Came here for the Evan Leroy chef collab and wow, let me tell you, these were some of the best dishes and drinks I've ever consumed. We got the croquettes, burnt ends, and curried carrots. Each dish was unique and highly flavorful, all cooked to perfection. My Apple & Ritz had a great balance of flavor while also being incredibly strong. The service was a tad slow but I'm sure it was just extra busy that night. Everything was quite pricey but at the quality levels it should be expected. Will be going at any future collabs!

What a beautiful space! We really enjoyed exploring the grounds and admiring all the architectural and design work that went into creating the space. We had two cocktails and both were great. 3 stories + outdoors area gives you a lot of options whether you want to go for a date night or a girls night out.

Walking into Prelude Cocktail Bar was a delightful experience. The interior design, with its stylish decoration and captivating art pieces, created a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff were not only friendly but also fashionable and attentive. I started with their cocktails, sampling the Chili Morita, Carrot and Hops signature drinks. While they weren’t the best cocktails I’ve ever had, they were enjoyable and beautifully presented. For appetizers, I tried almost everything on the menu and particularly loved the Sweet Peas, hamachi tacos, and chicken nuggets. We sat inside, but a quick glance at the outdoor area suggested it had a nice vibe too. I’ll definitely be back to explore it further. The service was commendable, especially given they had only been open for a few weeks. Prelude Cocktail Bar is a must-visit in Austin and a fantastic spot to spend time with special people.

My friends and I tried Prélude for the first time this evening. It was wonderful. First of all the place is absolutely beautiful. Three floors of spectacularly gorgeous rooms. Each room was uniquely decorated, from the furniture to the art. The cocktails and the canapes were very good. My friends loved their cocktails. The drinks were creative and distinctive. I was the designated driver, so it was a mocktail evening for me. I was very impressed with my drinks as well. It was great to have a nice variety of non alcoholic beverages to choose from. Our service was top notch. Katie, our server, was great. She stopped by frequently ( to check on us, refill water, etc), but was never intrusive. She was friendly and helpful. We never felt rushed. Good food and drinks take a little time to prepare, and it shows. I was very impressed with our experience this evening! I look forward to my next visit!

Property is gorgeous—cozy, sexy, great date night spot. Food was delicious (oysters, pork tart, and the croquettes were the standouts; the toast was the only underwhelming thing for me) but very very small for what you get and definitely will leave you needing a meal after , and we ordered literally one of everything on the menu. I think we spent about $250 per couple for the food and two cocktails each, and we still needed dinner after. Cocktails—which I thought would be the star of the show—were on the sweet side for me. The Negroni was very very good but everything else was a little sweet. Weirdest part was the service. The hostess was great, but our waiter was pushy and rude. He rolled his eyes once when not all of us were ready for our next drink; when i told him I didn’t like sweet drinks and asked which on the menu weren’t sweet, he just answered that “chef makes everything balanced,” then recommended a drink that was too sweet, and most egregiously, when he overheard us talking about going to dinner after and asked us where, he non-sarcastically but snarkily replied, “Oh I’m sorry you’re going there.” Upon seeing our shocked faces, he then explained he apparently had some bad beef with the chef there. Totally unprofessional and really disappointing for the level of service I’d expect at this price point and general intent. Likely won’t go back to prelude before the full restaurant opens, though the service makes me skeptical of future tasting menu worth too.
