Why Princess & Bear Wines is a fun option when searching for things to do near me with friends and family

Princess & Bear Wines is an exceptional wine experience located in Seattle's South Park neighborhood, offering a distinctive way to explore high-quality, small-batch wines imported directly from the unspoiled and diverse Languedoc-Roussillon region of France. Founded by Carol Bailey ("The Princess"), a family law attorney and mediator, alongside Steve Medwell ("The Bear"), a surgeon, this business merges passion with expertise to bring hand-selected wines made primarily from organic, biodynamic, or sustainable vineyards. What truly sets Princess & Bear apart is their commitment to showcasing wines predominantly produced by women winemakers from tiny villages, many of whom hand-harvest their grapes themselves. Visitors to their Seattle tasting room or customers of their online shop and wine clubs can expect to engage with wines that have distinctive personality and elegance due to their single-vineyard origins. This intimate connection to the producers, combined with the founders’ hands-on approach—often helping in the fields themselves—creates a welcoming spot to meet friends, share stories, and savor unique flavors that can't be found elsewhere in the city. Whether you're a wine enthusiast or new to French wines, Princess & Bear offers a warm, educational atmosphere to learn and enjoy some of France’s hidden vinicultural gems.

I couldn't believe this place was in south Seattle and right by my old work. I wish I knew of this place when I worked in Georgetown! I worked down there for over 12 years and I didn't know it existed. I would've been a regular. It's the cutest little place to try wine that is outside of the states. All their wines are from Languedoc-Roussillon a region of France and it makes it unique. Wines you can't find anywhere else. It's great and we tasted a few and they were delicious. They had a sparkling wine that I just loved and bought. If you want a great vibe and fun atmosphere go there. The service was exceptional and they were very knowledgeable. I didn't get a chance to meet the owners and to get more information on the finding of their business so I hope the next time I go they will be there. Great spot and I hope people flock here!

Went here for a Yelp Elite event and was so impressed with their wines!! We loved the sparkling brut so much we had to get a bottle to-go afterwards. We also tried a white & red wine as a part of the tasting, and loved the inside of the store - everything was so aesthetic and small intimate setting. Will definitely be back to try more of their wines!

This hidden little gem in the South Park neighborhood of Seattle is absolutely a tasting room that any wine enthusiast should know about! Not only are their wines delicious, but there staff is so incredibly nice and VERY knowledgeable. They even have a Master French Wine Scholar as part of their team. And this is the ONLY place in the country featuring wines solely from the Languedoc-Roussillon region of France. They import small batch, affordable and uniquely delicious wines from over 40 independent French winemakers. These Artisinal vintages from small family, primarily female-owned, vineyards cannot be tasted anywhere else in the country. Lucky us, that means that we get the exclusive opportunity to try before we buy. And their wine club options are also amazing. Go check it out, but leave a spot for me. ; - )
