Have had 2 sessions with prodrive with a third already booked. Make sure you visit Portland International Raceway's website for coupon codes to shave $100 off the price of the high performance drivers course. At $399 its a definite bargain. You get 5 total sessions. First 3 sessions are 15 min each, last 2 sessions are 20 min. You are split into three groups based on experience. Designated passing zones on the front and back straights. Dont feel like you need to have a high performance car when you go, i have seen everything from Honda Accords to Ferraris. I had Dan for my instructor most recently and he was great. Maybe it was because I knew the track better this time around but he seemed much more comfortable with me than my first instructor last year. Its a worthwhile experience to learn about car handling and improve your driving abilities while meeting new people. If your the least bit interested, do yourself a favor and sign up.

The school was professional and well structured. Everyone that works there were knowledgeable and great to talk with. I highly recommend doing this if you have a car you want to push in a controlled environment.

I took the Car Control Course as an employee of the City of Portland. I highly recommend this course for a company to put employees through this training for driving company vehicles and also the parent who wants their newly driving teen to get more experience with driving. Not only does the course provide you with skills to handle skids and slides, it is also a good experience to learn about looking and planning ahead, which is also just good to re-learn as an experienced driver. Plus, the course was really fun!

We took the icy conditions driving class (Car Control Course), and it was superb. The instructors were very good in all aspects if the class, from the classroom instructions to the in-vehicle application. Strongly recommend for everyone!

I just took the car control class. After a lifetime of avoiding getting into a skid it was useful to actually make the car skid and practice the skills to control the car. The instructor was excellent, efficient, plenty of practice in the car. The business is making an effort to follow COVID safety protocol. Great class for a new driver but also for others who have avoided skidding all their life and can learn some skills for if or when it happens.
