Took my kiddos here who are 8 and 9. They did have a lot of fun. I’d say it’s geared more for younger. But they still had a blast! Road the train multiple times, played at the parks and did the carousel. We got lunch at the cafe, which everyone loved. Was very clean and well kept all over. We had fun just wondering and looking.

Pullen Park is a beloved treasure in Raleigh, founded in 1887 by philanthropist Richard Stanhope Pullen, who drew inspiration from New York’s Central Park. As North Carolina’s first public park, his generous land donation created a free, welcoming space for everyone, a legacy that still thrives today. Over 150 years later, Pullen Park remains a vibrant heart of the community, where families create lasting memories. The miniature train ride, chugging through scenic paths, sparks joy in kids and adults alike, while the beautifully restored carousel spins out nostalgia with its hand-carved animals. Towering oak trees provide cool shade for picnics, playtime, or quiet moments, making it a perfect escape from summer heat. Playgrounds buzz with laughter, and winding trails invite leisurely strolls. As a Raleigh local, I feel immense pride visiting Pullen Park. It’s more than a park—it’s a living piece of our city’s history, blending nostalgia and joy. Whether you’re a family seeking fun or a visitor craving Raleigh’s charm, Pullen Park delivers warmth and wonder every time.

Did not realize this was the 5th oldest amusement park when I went. Very well maintained for something this old. Only the train ride was running when I went. Tickets are very modestly priced. Its free to enter the park. Decent length of walking trails. Casual walk around the pond. Dedicated play area for kids and plenty of covered picnic areas. The other attractions like the carousel appeared to be closed. Might be prudent to check when these open for the season before coming here.
