I have been doing Pure Barre for close to 15 years bc it’s the best and most effective workout for me. I’ve recommended PB to friends who want the long, lean muscles like dancers, targeting all the areas women typically want to address (embrace the shake and burn!). I especially love the Culver City studio the most bc of Ali and her team of amazing instructors and staff, who genuinely care about their clients. The studio is clean, spacious, they have great merch (I have to resist the urge to shop every time!), they plan themed classes and socials, making it a place where you want to go and hang. Ali and team foster an inclusive, warm and fun environment while offering a challenging and highly satisfying workout. I can’t say enough great things about PBCC!

I love this place, and I go as often as i possibly can. It's a pilates/yoga/barre fusion type workout, and anyone can and should give this type of workout a chance. The owner and staff at the Culver City location are all incredibly warm and welcoming, and you will definitely be encouraged to keep pushing yourself forward. Don't be afraid, just try a class and see for yourselves. ☺️

Pure Barre is an amazing place to get a uniquely tailored workout, one that is a fantastic fusion of pirates, yoga, and ballet. They offer multiple types of classes, so you can structure your workout goals accordingly ie. Classic barre vs barre with weight lifting (Define) vs aerobic barre (Empower). If you stick with it, you will definitely appreciate the results of all your hard work. On top of everything, the staff members are truly lovely people, and each class is really rewarding.

I have been a member of this studio since it first opened back in 2019, and I couldn’t recommend coming here enough. The workouts are always challenging but fun, and there’s a variety of types you can take depending on what you’re looking for (more strength-based, something gentler, etc) What really makes this a great place to come is the community. The owner, Ali, and her staff are exceptional. Everyone is beyond kind and they really make you look forward to coming to class. All of the members are great too. This is truly a studio that welcomes everyone and strives to make everyone feel comfortable. Whether you’ve done barre before or are a newbie, you have to try a class here!

I LOVE this studio! The owner, Ali, has created a truly special community with the most welcoming vibe. Even after doing classes regularly for over 3 years, each workout is truly a challenge. The instructors are supportive, encouraging and highly skilled. Each time I take a class, I leave the studio in a lighter and happier mood - a tough workout wrapped up in a warm hug! So grateful for Pure BARRE CC. Check them out, they are awesome!

What activities does Pure Barre offer for groups?

Pure Barre specializes in four signature group classes designed to provide a comprehensive, low-impact workout rooted in ballet, Pilates, and yoga techniques. These classes last between 45 to 50 minutes and strategically use small, isometric pulsing movements that engage all major muscle groups for maximum toning and strengthening. The four core class formats include Pure Barre Classic™, Pure Barre Empower™, Pure Barre Align™, and Pure Barre Define™. Each format focuses on slightly different elements such as endurance, balance, core strength, and muscle definition, allowing groups to pick classes that best align with their collective fitness goals. Many sessions incorporate props like resistance bands, small weighted balls, and dumbbells to add variety and intensity. In addition to regular classes, Pure Barre offers a monthly rotating “focus” class that blends multiple styles or hones in on specific fitness components, such as core or balance — perfect for groups seeking a fresh challenge. This variety of formats and attention to detail enables groups to customize their experience and keep workouts engaging and effective.

Why is Pure Barre perfect for a group meetup?

Pure Barre’s studio environment and class structure make it uniquely suited for group meetups. First, the studios emphasize low-impact yet highly effective movements, which means friends at different fitness levels can comfortably participate together. The classes are designed to be accessible but challenging, promoting inclusivity and shared achievement. Instructors personalize the experience by calling out participants’ names, fostering connection and motivation within the group. Moreover, the layout and lighting of the studios create a cozy and inviting ambiance where everyone feels focused yet relaxed. Pure Barre also cultivates a community vibe; people come not just for fitness but for camaraderie and encouragement. Groups attending together often find that the workout’s addictive quality—driven by its structured routine and dynamic music—cements their commitment and makes repeated meetups something to look forward to. For those wanting flexibility, Pure Barre’s streaming platform, Xponential+, allows groups to extend their fitness journey virtually, supporting consistent gatherings regardless of location.

How does Pure Barre improve your physical and mental wellbeing?

Pure Barre’s workout methodology goes beyond traditional exercise by focusing on full-body transformation—physically and mentally. The combination of ballet, yoga, Pilates, and strength training promotes muscular endurance, flexibility, and agility while being gentle on the joints. Its low-impact technique is ideal for people seeking to improve without risking injury from high-impact activities. Each class emphasizes precise, small movements that target muscles intensely, leading to visible toning, better posture, and increased balance. The supportive community and personalized instructor feedback boost confidence and motivation, making participants feel empowered both inside and outside the studio. Regular Pure Barre attendance can lead to improved body awareness and a greater sense of wellbeing, transforming workouts into a lifestyle rather than a chore. For groups, this shared mental and physical uplift reinforces social bonds and motivates everyone to maintain healthy routines.

What does a typical Pure Barre class look like for a group?

When a group enters a Pure Barre class, they can expect a welcoming and structured session designed to maximize results efficiently within about 50 minutes. The instructor will lead the group through a sequence of exercises set to upbeat and motivating music, gradually building intensity while focusing on form and technique. Classes typically include segments targeting the arms, core, glutes, legs, and back with precise isometric pulses that activate muscles and create burn without heavy joint strain. Props like resistance bands and small weights add diversity, allowing the group to adapt exercises based on individual capability while remaining synchronized. The lighting dims subtly to enhance focus and create an immersive atmosphere, encouraging participants to tune into their bodies and the instructor’s cues. Instructors also engage directly by calling out names and offering encouragement, which helps create a personal connection even in a group setting. By the end of the class, the group members feel energized, accomplished, and connected through the shared challenge and achievement.

For groups, this social support is crucial, as it builds accountability and creates a positive feedback loop. Additionally, Pure Barre’s varied class formats and monthly “focus” classes keep workouts fresh and interesting, preventing routine boredom. For those who cannot always meet in person, the Xponential+ streaming service enables groups to maintain consistency by accessing classes anytime, anywhere. How accessible and inclusive is Pure Barre for all fitness levels?

Pure Barre prides itself on being accessible and welcoming to a broad range of fitness backgrounds, making it an excellent choice for varied groups. Instructors focus on form and provide modifications so every participant can work at their own pace, ensuring no one feels left behind or overwhelmed. The classes emphasize mindful movements that build muscle endurance and flexibility progressively rather than requiring prior dance or fitness experience. Furthermore, Pure Barre’s diverse community celebrates inclusivity, fostering a positive environment where different body types and fitness journeys are respected and encouraged. This makes it an inviting place for a group with different skill levels or health concerns to come together, fostering unity through shared goals and support.
