Why Record Plant Recording Studios is a fun option when searching for things to do near me with friends and family

Record Plant Recording Studios, founded in 1968, has earned its place as a legendary and pioneering hub for musicians and industry professionals. With locations initially in New York, Los Angeles, and Sausalito, the studio quickly rose to fame due to its innovative approach to music production and artist comfort. The studios were among the first to embrace advanced recording technologies, such as the 24-track tape recorder in Los Angeles in 1970, enabling artists to explore new creative possibilities. Beyond technology, Record Plant revolutionized the recording environment by transforming traditional clinical studio spaces into inviting, comfortable, and creatively inspiring settings. This vibe-oriented atmosphere helped artists unleash their best performances. Some of the most iconic albums in rock history were recorded here, including Jimi Hendrix’s Electric Ladyland and John Lennon’s final sessions. The Sausalito studio, opened in 1972, offered a scenic, relaxed getaway removed from the city’s pressures and featured unique design elements like redwood decor and creative acoustic treatments. Today, while the original New York and Los Angeles studios have closed, the Sausalito location endures, continuing to serve artists seeking world-class facilities and an inspiring ambiance for their recordings. This makes Record Plant an exceptional and historic venue for meeting up with friends around a shared love of music and creativity.

I worked there in 1991. It looks like it's closing. That's a shame. Does anyone know if they will be selling anything off? It would be cool to have something. By the time people figure out that Laptops are not going to fill the void left by the disappearing Sound studios that accommodated real musicians, it's already too late. The fools that we are-It's already too late. RIP Record Plant. I didn't always see eye to eye with ownership or management, but I hate to see it go. There were some crazy times there for sure. I'll have the fond memories of the hot babes in their one piece jumper suits and no underwater, and the off the wall artists that tested my patience, but made the days and nights fun and exiting.

I've heard of this place many times. I checked out their website. Looked like a pretty cool studio. So I called. Just got off the phone, was trying to block out a few days. Man, what a weird phone call. Condescending, a bit arrogant, treated me like an idiot. Well, I am an idiot, but don't like to be treated like one. I was all ready to spend 5 grand for 2 days. I'll look elsewhere.

Came here last year- Isaac was very kind, but the receptionist/runner Milena Tonis was very rude and unwelcoming. I'm shocked someone with complexes like that would be chosen to represent the company at the front desk.
