I’ve been shopping at this store 20+ years now and they never let me down. Amazing customer service and support. The bike shop is one of the best in town.

I’m originally from Seattle, WA, where REI is more than just a store—it’s part of our lifestyle. I even grew up two blocks from the original REI location and have been a proud member for as long as I can remember. That’s why today’s visit was such a disappointment. For the first time ever at REI, I had a truly poor customer service experience. Kes, my interaction with you during a return was frustrating and fell far short of what I’ve come to expect. Your question, “Who is the mother?” to my wife was inappropriate, lacked professionalism, and frankly, was none of your business. Aside from that interaction, the rest of our experience in the store was excellent. Unfortunately, because you are the last point of contact customers have before leaving, it overshadowed everything else. I leave way more positive reviews than negative ones so people tend to take my reviews pretty seriously. We’ll be visiting REI’s other Atlanta locations moving forward. Thank you for providing clarity.

Bill was very helpful and knowledgable. I came with questions about air mattresses for reasons completely unrelated to camping or the outdoors and he was both very kind and able to speak with me the way I imagine he would to any of the more outdoorsy customers he's used to seeing. He absolutely made it a great experience when I was very unsure of what I needed.

I want to give a shoutout to DJ & Bill for spending a tremendous amount of time helping me explore everything my partner and I would need for an upcoming kayaking trip. Seriously, I cannot underscore enough just how long I was there, going back and forth between this item and that one. They were patient, engaging, and super friendly as I worked through all of my options. “What about this color? And what about that situation?” They had thoughtful answers for my many questions, and taught me all about what I should consider. I am very happy with my purchases! Give them a kudos! P.S. Go Veronica!

Kes was so rude. My 2 year old had missed her nap so she was a bit fussy at the check out counter. Kes wasn’t even helping me. She commented from 4 registers down asking who the mother of the child was. And when I responded that it was me, she rolled her eyes and huffed before going back to her own work. It was super rude and impacted my shopping experience poorly, considering I was spending $200 at the store. Would not recommend coming to this REI unless you want to be treated poorly.

Joining the REI Co-op affords members special discounts, access to exclusive gear, and invitations to members-only events, making it an advantageous upgrade for groups that regularly meet for outdoor activities. Membership rewards provide ways to save on purchases and rentals, which is especially helpful when outfitting multiple people. The Co-op also offers unique group-oriented programming and creates a tighter community feel, encouraging ongoing participation in outdoor meetups and stewardship programs.
