Beautiful facility. For once, you can actually hear what the announcer is saying. Lots of stadium seats. Bring your own chair if you want to be comfy. They have a new outdoor pool as well. Parking for swim event is not easy to figure out. Don’t park in the Post Office parking lot. There are several parking lots around that is SMU owned but not sure if need to pay. Have parked there before without paying, parked there on the weekend. Wish they have a parking lot guide. Maybe there is.

Attended a tri college swim meet between SMU UIW and OCU - to see our son swim. Good ventilation and seating so that you are not too far away. Sound system is good and was able to hear all the announcements. Establishment was clean. Double pool , but only 6 lanes. 2nd pool also splits as a the diving pool. Thanks Stan's for hosting.

My son swam at a meet here and said the indoor pool was great (as a swimmer). Outdoor warm up pool was a plus. They had some lively music going getting the swimmers pumped up for their next event, very nice area. Parking wasn't too bad. Temperature was very muggy for spectators (although that happens in some indoor pools). So be prepared.

Follow up to below review. Love the facility but not for the handicapped! Now over 10 weeks that elevator to spectator gallery has been out of order. I have numerous pictures of handicapped people being turned away because of this. People on crutches, wheelchairs or sick people with cancer and/or myoneuropathies. I find it hard to believe it would take this long to repair an elevator that services two floors. Perhaps a sign out front, NO HANDICAPPED ALLOWED” would be kinder. I don’t think this complies with PL 94-142, Sec 504 of the Texas rehabilitation act or the Americans with Disabilities Act. Although a private University, taking Federal and State money obligates SMU to comply. Beautiful facility and I must congratulate SMU for its foresight and for integrating this center into the community as a whole!!! My only negative comment is, as a handicapped person, the facility has two handicapped parking slots about half the time filled by non handicapped people. Also the elevator has been turned off for about two weeks forcing those who are able to use the stairs which for some is impossible.
