I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with a recent visit to your nail salon. I found the pricing to be quite high. I came in for a fill-in on my nails, which were originally done out of state, and also had my toes done. I was surprised by the additional $20 charge for gel polish, especially since it seems that normal white nail polish is diluted, effectively forcing customers to opt for gel. My previous experience here confirms this, as the normal white polish on my feet turned brown within a week. While the manager re-did them with gel, which lasted, she claimed it was attributed to me wearing covered shoes. During my visit in August, I opted for gel on my toes, incurring the $20 extra charge(I found out the price when I was about to pay), to ensure longevity. I also had my hands done, and I was very disappointed with the experience. I had a specific design in mind, a neutral brown French tip, but was told you didn't have the brown base. Despite the technician encouraging me to stick with a pink base, the design ultimately didn't work, and I had to settle for a simpler one. The overall cost for this visit was $120, and I am writing this review because my gel polish on my hands have already chipped after only one week.

I think I’m going to start a TikTok series where I review nail salons because the discrimination that I’m facing on the northside of Chicago is ridiculous. I am not a difficult person and I do not ask for too much and if I am, I’m willing to pay whatever it is: I don’t have children so I spend my money freely on whatever I want! I’m from California where our nails are $200 but I’m not gonna pay $200 for BS, attitude, and up charges that wasn’t explained Or stated on the service form, I filled out for my pedicure and full set. The technicians offered to do both my services at the same time, I told them whatever works best for them. When the first technician started, I told her that I wasn’t pleased with the way that she was laying the nail tips on my nail beds. They did not look straight to me. She proceeded to try to tell me that that’s the way my nail grew, And I asked her to take them off. She had to remove them twice because we were running in the same issue and I asked if we could just wait till my feet were done. She said it wouldn’t make no difference And got up and proceeded to do someone else’s nails. When my pedicure was done, I was placed with Ruby, who was nice but passive aggressive (A lot of micro aggressions kept asking me is this OK? Insinuating that it was a problem for wanting my service to be what I wanted/paying for), but she did do a good job. My nails look great so I’m trying to understand what was the first lady problem trying to convince me that my nails went a different way when Ruby was able to accomplish the goal? I end up spending $145. I noticed that there were added on charges to my services of $20 on both my feet and toes. Ruby was going to get a fat tip because she saved my nail set. However, the extra charges was really distasteful to me, especially when you didn’t explain that you charge $20 extra for gel polish, which is insane. If you look at my other reviews, I usually get longer nails and those run about the same amount of this service, but it’s nearly not the same length. I don’t understand why I paid so much for service that I had to advocate for just to be satisfied. It’s 2025 people is this still what we’re dealing with? Doesn’t matter I’m going to continue to give my honest experiences of these spaces because this ongoing culture in these Asian own nail salons is really nasty and rooted in racism, white superiority, and stomach wrenching disconnect with minorities. I uploaded pics. The pedi I’ll give a D for effort, but my nail set is tea.
