Visited Saffron recently and had a decent experience overall. The cozy ambiance makes for a comfortable and welcoming dining atmosphere. They offer a buffet with a good variety of items to choose from, which is always a plus when you’re in the mood to try a bit of everything. The front staff was courteous and attentive, adding to the positive vibe of the place. There’s still some room for improvement in food taste and quality. A few dishes were slightly off—Aloo Tikki and Fish 65 were a bit salty for our liking. On the other hand, the Eggplant with green peas was surprisingly good and stood out with its balanced flavor. Overall, a nice place with potential—just a few tweaks in the kitchen could elevate the experience even more.

Went out to dinner with one of my friends last night. I was looking forward to try a new Indian food restaurant that she highly recommended. Service was a little slow for a not very busy Wednesday night. I ordered the Paneer Tikka Masala with mild heat & Garlic Cheese Naan. I’ve never seen this kind of naan before. My friend ordered the Butter Chicken with medium heat & Garlic Cheese Naan. The naan was so good! So hard to explain but I don’t know how they got all the cheese in between the naan pieces. It was fantastic! I liked the Tikka Masala as well, it was a little spicy even being the mild heat level, but I’m kind of a baby with spice. My friend said hers was really good & she didn’t feel like the medium spice level in hers was too much at all, just the perfect amount. It was plenty of food for left overs. I actually loved that they gave us each our own rice bowl. Sometimes sharing rice seems to never be enough. It looks like they have several locations & I can’t wait to take my boyfriend there next time.

As soon as we entered, we were greeted with traditional “Namaste” by their young staff that touched our hearts 💞 The live pani puri/golgappe setup with chat assortment is absolutely impressive! Wada pav and pav bhaji takes you right back home in Maharashtra (Pune/Mumbai). I had read a bit about the owner Lavanya who probably has thoughtfully brought these roots to Saffron. Kudos to the staff for their smiling faces and executing her vision so well!! Lunch buffet had a nice spread with variety of appetizers, curries, chicken biryani and desserts. My personal favorite was chicken tikka and gulab jamun. Must visit in SLC!! Overall a great experience of savoring desi cuisine with a lovely ambience.
