I've never been to a place like this before- was great. Provides a safe and secure environment to pursue literary objectives. Definitely seems catered more towards the student crowd but it is what you make of it. It's a good place to write, the staff is helpful, and you can schedule meetings to go over goals or assignments outside of the workshops that the place provides. If I lived here I would most definitely frequent the CWC. If you're a writer or interested in writing, head on over.

Fantastic free and low cost workshops that give community members the opportunity to practice, share, and publish their writing. Genuinely one of the best resources in Salt Lake City for creatives and others interested in growing their writing skills. Kati Lewis, the director, is a supportive and inspirational badass.

The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is nice, and the place is amazing. Wish I had more free time to go there more often.

I've been involved in SLCC-CWC off and on in one capacity or another since its inception. I've seen a lot of people come and go, but the center has always remained true to its mission to assist writers of all skill levels, education, and ability in just about any way one can imagine: DiverseCkity Writing Series groups, writing workshops, literacy action...the list grows every year. I highly recommend CWC to all writers. Professionally trained staff and volunteers will do whatever they can to help you with whatever type of writing you're trying to produce. And it will be fun!
