A great dive! The food and service were both top notch here. I got the special of the day and my wife got the beans and rice. Their fried green tomatoes were some of the best we’ve ever had. Was thinking about them again today and wanted them again. I personally wasn’t a fan of the sassafras tea. It was supposed to be a sweet tea but there was no sweet to it. Great flavor but not sweet. If you’re looking for a cute vibe and great date spot check this place out.

Probably the loveliest place I have ever been to for brunch. From the moment we were greeted at the entrance of this gorgeous house, we were made to feel welcomed and the hostess even oriented us to the location of restrooms which was a nice touch. We were seated on the outdoor patio which had a peaceful and beautiful ambiance. The menu was extensive and everything looked so tasty, it was hard to decide, but I went with the crab cake benedict which was amazing. The service was prompt and friendly. I would definitely come back and try their other dishes.

If you want farm to table excellent food, this is the place to go. We came from Illinois just for Sassafras on our anniversary. The staff is so helpful and so friendly. The building is 2 old houses converted into the restaurant.

Sassafras is a great spot for brunch though on the weekends it may be hard to get in if you have a large party. The banana bread and lavender lemonade and berry limeade are fantastic. Not pictured was the delicious chicken fried steak and breakfast po boy which were fantastic! We have come before and had the bison hash which was also delicious! Highly recommend! Great during weekdays on an off day as it’s much easier to get seated!

This place completely blew our minds. The southern flavors in every dish we tried was like I was in the Deep South in someone’s kitchen. First, we tried the deviled eggs which were ridiculous in the best way; so creamy and flavorful. Then we had the beignets which was good but the triple jam made them excellent. For entrees we had the crab cakes Benedict and the chicken fried steak; it’s impossible to describe just how tasty everything was. I was so full and happy leaving this place. It was absolutely worth the way. Oh and the pineapple orange juice is literally nectar from heaven. It was so damn good, I didn’t have any by the time my food arrived lol
