The Scripps Ranch Theatre facility has been home to great theatre experiences for me for almost 50 years. Wow from college to retirement. How lucky for me. I saw a great “Riot” productions original musical last night called “Gretel.” Innovative with an excellent street theatre flair. Great costumes and set pieces that allowed for authentic creative story telling. The stars of the show were the actors and musicians who were frequently one and the same. They deserve the applause they received with gusto. They have one more performance which is today, Sunday July 27 at 7 pm. I wouldn’t miss it if you have the chance. It’s only an hour long show and worth every minute. Remember it starts at 7 pm and not the usual 8 pm. Thanks to everybody at “Riot” Productions for your continued and obvious hard work. Thank you to Scripps Ranch Theatre for once again offering the use of their beautiful space to support the arts in San Diego.

This is such a gem. Quaint little theater with super friendly employees. We saw A Christmas Carol: A Radio Play, the voice actors were amazing!!!! My teens loved it as well. Just fyi- there is no real bar here, they sell wine but that's it. They were serving free hot cocoa and cookies. The carolers beforehand were so great! Parking is easy and free. We will definitely be seeking out performances at this space.

VERY intimate experience as the theater is only 3 rows and fits about 75 people comfortably. That said, you really get a great show with the closeness to the actors. We saw Vanity Fair on it's opening night and the cast was great. Highly recommend if you are a theater buff or want something to do on the weekend.
