I started paddling with SCKC a few years ago and love the group! They have a brand new boat house on Green Lake and many styles of kayaks and canoes. They are also getting paddle boards. I joined one of the adult classes. There are classes for kids too. I had paddling experience before joining but it’s not necessary — lots of boat options and instruction. There are also opportunities to race, which is really fun! It’s a friendly and welcoming community. I’ll definitely continue to paddle with SCKC.

The new boathouse and docks are great, with easy access for adult and youth paddlers. Suggest taking a class through Seattle Parks and Rec and then joining the club! Spring and summer paddling at Green Lake is fun! And 2025 will have two big events at the lake -- Ted Houk Regatta June 14-15 and Nationals August 12-15.

Whoever was driving your power boat last night was putting out a big wake for a lake that is supposed to be free of motor boats. I had to help a SUPer who had been overturned by the wake and couldn't recover by himself. Please be safe out there and considerate of recreational paddlers!
