Why Seattle HappyFeet is a fun option when searching for things to do near me with friends and family
Seattle HappyFeet is a youth soccer program based in King County, Washington, dedicated to helping children aged 2 to 6 years old develop not only their gross motor skills but also creativity and positive self-concept through the engaging and fun medium of soccer. Founded in 2008 and currently owned by Kevin Becks and Alyssa Plummer since 2018, the organization has grown to include a passionate team of full-time and part-time coaches who work in schools, local parks, community centers, and local soccer fields. The program's mission is to nurture the next generation of "Brave Creative Leaders" through soccer, emphasizing values such as integrity, diversity and inclusion, community, growth, and fun. Seattle HappyFeet's inclusive philosophy openly welcomes immigrants, refugees, and individuals with disabilities, embraces all religions, supports Black Lives Matter, LGBTQI+ rights, and prioritizes kindness, community, and environmental care over profit. Highlighting their commitment to accessibility and community involvement, classes are frequently offered as 30-minute weekly sessions at preschools or early learning centers, with seasonal sessions combining soccer games and scrimmages, as well as weekday classes at numerous neighborhood venues. Reviews and feedback about Seattle HappyFeet specifically were not extensively detailed in the search results, but the organization's strong community ties, professional coaching staff, and inclusive values have been positively noted. Positive remarks would likely highlight the effective and fun teaching approach to early childhood soccer, a focus on character and social growth alongside physical skills, and the program's welcoming, diverse, and supportive culture which sets a model for young players. Negative reviews were not explicitly mentioned, but challenges faced by participants could conceivably relate to variations in coaching style or availability due to part-time coaching staff, or logistical aspects such as class locations and scheduling preferences. In the context of other "HappyFeet" businesses referenced—such as a reflexology spa in Seattle offering massages for $50-$60 and receiving mixed reviews, and an unrelated company selling insoles with strong testimonials—it's important to clarify that Seattle HappyFeet's youth soccer program is distinct and focused on child development through sport, not massage or foot care products. Horrible experience for my kiddo this summer. Extremely disappointed with this program, what a waste of my money.

Coach Ryan was super engaging with my shy little one. When I told him she was doing PT for an issue with her right leg, he was really mindful to make certain she was using both sides of her body. He was really quick to offer positive reinforcement, and although it was just the three of us, he fostered a great sense of teamwork. Everything was perfectly age-appropriate, and very well planned. We were so disappointed when the class ended in Lake City. Thanks, Coach Ryan and Happy Feet!
