Excellent trail! Wear hiking shoes because there are some slippery rock areas.

Park on Evans Wood - the end of the street is a trailhead that will take you down into Penasquitos Canyon via multiple trails. This is a great place to start a hike - or Mountain Bike ride. For MTB you can go west and ride down Side Hill, or ride east alongside Carmel Mountain Road for a good warm up, then drop into Appendix and/or Cobbles for your trip into the canyon and beyond.

Its only 2 ml one way but has fantastic views of the canyon. Trail is steep, though and can be a bit too much for an inexperienced hiker
