I’m relatively new to film photography, and I’ve spent a lot of time trying different labs in Seattle for development. Shot On Film has consistently delivered great scans with a quick turnaround time, both in color and black and white. They typically have a great selection of film available at good prices, as well as an unparalleled stock of cameras for sale. All of this is great, but I think what really makes Shot On Film shine is the helpfulness of everyone who works there. As a beginner, I’ve had a lot of questions about cameras, lenses, and film stocks, and they’re not only knowledgeable on these subjects but eager to share what they know with anyone who asks. I think they’re an invaluable part of the film photography community in Seattle and I will happily continue doing my business with them. I encourage you to as well!

Ken is a blessing of an owner. I have had many rolls developed here and they've all been great. Their assortment of vintage cameras and lenses is also very tempting. Sometimes I just go in to have a chat, it's truly a wonderful little shop.

While this store has an impeccable lineup of cameras in great condition and most film offerings of what you’d need to get going as well as a fine selection of digital, there are glaring issues. Overpricing that the owner has no answer for - not even a “we are a local business and thus we must charge more” which would be respectable. You only get an answer of “well you can buy it online but you’ll just get a lemon” which is only a half truth. Additionally, their return policy is the only place in town that I’ve found to not have one. There just simply isn’t one. They have exchanges, but if you suffer from buyers remorse, you’re out of luck. They have an amazing scanner, but use drop box for their app of choice to send you scanned exposures, which is extremely inaccessible. I give two stars - 1 star for the great selection of fun, interesting, sought after cameras - 1 star for the great scanner that they use - it’s probably the best quality scans you’ll get if you have them take care of your color film stock. (However the Dropbox method of receiving your scans is another issue) They lose 3 stars for meaningful customer service, lack of return policy (eg they don’t say “by the way all sales are final”). This shop could easily be the best in town along with their smaller one in Ballard. I’m not saying to not go to shot on film, there are great things to say - but for me, unfortunately, the negatives outweigh the positives.

Truly exceptional service. I'm just passing through Seattle, and needed a roll developing ASAP. Another store quoted me nearly $50 for 48 hours which would be nuts in the UK. The guys at Shot On Film were really understanding and helped me out. We also had a great chat about vintage cameras and lenses, they gave some advice about some new film stock to try out (I asked for the weirdest stuff they had!) And when I realized I'd lost my debit card, they offered to help me call my hotel or my bank. Awesome store with a great selection of both affordable and high end cameras and glass. Wish my local in the UK was like this!
