Review is for Heavy Feather (upstairs): I absolutely love this bar. The ambiance is warm and gorgeous. Theme is super fun and kitschy. And the bartenders are talented and kind. I've gotten amazing cocktails every time I've gone there (both on and off menu). It's a really unique experience and I highly recommend. Downstairs gets pretty crazy on the weekends, so go earlier or on a week day to get a quieter vibe, on theme 60-70s music, and with more access to the bar. Or enjoy the party atmosphere of the weekend late nights where they play early 2000s pop and rap. Everything about it is cute down to the bathrooms. Will be back again soon!

I liked this spot mostly for the different vibes on each floor. The first floor is a spacious dance area with cool lighting, while the second floor is a tiki bar with small tables, two larger booths, and a more relaxed atmosphere. The upstairs also offers a fuller menu with $14 cocktails and is a better place to sit, talk, and actually hear the person you're with. Each floor played different music, which was a nice touch. That said, the weekend DJ was just okay in my opinion he mostly just transitions between songs rather than actually mixing. The music leaned heavily into the 2000s, which can be hit or miss depending on the crowd. I’d probably return to hang out upstairs, but I’m not sure I’d come back for the dancing. Overall, this place was just okay and honestly a bit of a disappointment!

I love the atmosphere at Slippery Slope! As someone that lives in Logan Square, I go to Slippery Slope often on the weekends to enjoy some good music with some well priced drinks. The line can get crazy if you come after 11:30 but there is no cover to get in, which is a plus. This is a bar you should definitely come to when visiting Chicago.
