We initially considered getting a membership before visiting, but after experiencing the atmosphere firsthand, we quickly changed our minds. A friend invited us to an event last night, and while the performance was enjoyable, the overall service was disappointing. The staff lacked warmth, rarely smiled, and service was painfully slow. Our arrival at the lobby set the tone for the night. We were questioned excessively despite presenting our invitation email, making the check-in process frustrating. It took 30 minutes for a server to acknowledge us and another 45 minutes just to receive our drinks. The attitude of the staff came across as unnecessarily superior, which was unsettling. While everyone can have an off day, multiple reviews echo similar concerns, suggesting this isn’t an isolated issue. On a positive note, the members we met were welcoming and friendly, which was refreshing. Still, it’s hard to ignore the stark contrast between this experience and my time as a member in other cities, Austin just doesn’t measure up.

Just canceled my membership after 8 years. Even though it costs $4,500/year, we’ve only used it twice in the last 3 years. Today my wife was in Austin and went there for dinner. She was told that only I can use the membership and she would not be allowed to enter. I understand If that’s their policy, however the doorman was extremely rude and told her that she and her friends could go down the street and find somewhere else to eat. He was condescending and needlessly aggressive. I have to say that the last time we were there it was severely overcrowded with people who were obviously not members so it’s just as well that we move on. It’s not the way SoHo House used to be.

Great rooms, cool terrace and pool, awesome cinema and music room. Pricey, yes, but worth it! The attention to detail is incredible. Have cookies, coffee, toiletries, art, cool decoration everywhere and curated selection of good food and drinks. Entrance is a little hidden but in the coolest part of town. Worth it!

Great Soho House, like pretty much all of them. Fantastic service with true Texas friendliness. Very helpful staff with great local knowledge. They go beyond the extra mile to help you out. The rooms, like the whole House, are very artsy with great taste and amenities. Wusste after we checked into our room, the cocktail guy came by our room for some Spivey margaritas on the house. The neighbourhood is fantastic to dine out, shop or sightsee. Can reminded this place 10/10.

Came in for lunch today with three of my girlfriends. We were literally the only table there, yet it took 15 minutes just to get water and 20 minutes before anyone even took our order. Drinks took another 20 minutes to arrive, and when they did, the quality didn’t justify the wait. We ordered the chopped salad, which was honestly worse than something you’d get at McDonald’s. The dressing came 10 minutes after the salad did. Totally flavorless and poorly presented. When we voiced our concerns, the manager was condescending, dismissive, and downright rude. No ownership —just gaslighting us and saying we were exaggerating. This wasn’t our first bad experience here, but it will definitely be our last. My friends are already talking about canceling their memberships—and I don’t blame them. Soho House Austin needs a serious reset in both service, quality of food, and attitude.
