Fantastic Brunch Spot – A Must We visited Sour Duck Market (Austin) based on a whim and a Googled review — it did not disappoint! From the moment we arrived on a busy Sunday morning, we were impressed by the efficiency of the service, the quality of the food, and the overall experience. The ordering process is seamless—scan a QR code at your table, browse the menu, place your order (individually or as a group), and pay via Apple Pay. You can run a tab or pay immediately, and you receive text updates on your order status. It’s a smooth, well-designed system that ensures you’re never left wondering about your food. Despite the bustling brunch crowd, our food arrived quickly, and every dish was absolutely delicious. We ordered: • Fried Chicken Hash – Crispy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. • Breakfast Taco – Simple but packed with fresh ingredients. • Baked Chilaquiles – A standout dish with bold flavors. • Breakfast Sammy – A hearty and satisfying sandwich. • A Star is Born (x3) – A refreshing and well-balanced drink. • Chai Latte – Smooth and full of warm spices. The food was fresh, flavorful, and made with high-quality ingredients. The portions were just right, leaving us satisfied but not overly stuffed. As expected in Austin, parking can be a challenge, but with a little patience, you can usually find a street spot nearby. Overall, Sour Duck Market is a fantastic brunch spot with great food, fast service, and a hassle-free ordering system. We’ll definitely be back! Highly recommended.

Parking was a little tight but wasn’t really an issue. Food was wonderfully delicious. I got a mushroom danish, I loved it but for my partner it wasn’t his cup of tea. We got the brisket sandwich and chicken sandwich. Both absolutely delish and you can feel the intention behind every ingredient for it. Maybe the chicken was a little better than the brisket one since the bread on that one was a little dryer. My friend got the sourdough melt and that was also absolutely delish. And for a little refreshing side, I enjoyed the smashed cucumbers. Service was good when you were met with a staff member. Most of it is self service. They had a stand for water, utensils, to go containers and plates. You order food from a QR code on your table. Food came out in a timely manner. The vibe and decor of the place was really cute and I’d love to come back next time I’m in town. Their brunch looks awesome. For the pictures it’s just the mushroom danish, smashed cucumbers and brisket sandwich.

Everything was so darn yummy. The staff was super friendly and I love the atmosphere. They have restored my faith in trying Austin's food. My husband, son, and niece agree that this place is a must try. Don't forget happy hour burgers and drinks. Dessert was on point as well so leave room yall; or take it to go but don't skip out.

Crispy edged thin double smash cheese burger was pretty good. Drinks were also good. Service at the table from the QR code so easy to order and all very informal.

This was our first Sour Duck experience. Given the positive reviews we were remiss in waiting so long. However, our experience didn't quite match most of the reviews. First the food itself was mostly excellent and more on that later. Being of a more traditional mindset ( read Boomers) we did not prefer the the digital ordering process. We can do it but much prefer the personal touch. Particularly since the suggested tip for food table delivery is akin to that for full service. The process is impersonal and doesn't allow for questions--or human interaction until the food arrives. We understand many restaurants are using it to cover for labor shortages and to maximize profits. But for us that's an automatic star docker. Our initial server didn't seem pleased by our requests for extra condiments for the fries. This said, Phil's Paloma was just lovely, however for the price my Bloody Mary which arrived unadorned except for salt, no celery, okra Nada. For $13 not so great. I might add we felt as oldsters almost invisible to the younger staff. Phil had the cold cut sandwich which proved exquisite; great meat selection, awesome sauce superb bread. I ordered the cheeseburger without the bun which was delicious and full of grilled flavor. We spit a mushroom pastry which was also top notch but could have had a bit more of the artfully seasoned filling. The farm salad was also lovely with nice chunks of apple and the sweet touch of the granola topping. On the disappointment list were the fries which were nicely cooked but over salted. The chocolate torte we both found dry. For online ordering I think the food quality would be fabulous, but for a walk in sit down experience, nothing to really gush about.
