Kelly was a great instructor. She is very knowledgeable, and open to any questions during the session. My wife and I took the handgun intro, and very extremely pleased with the classroom and range experience. We both feel comfortable with owning a firearm now.

My private lesson with Kelly was amazing. I signed up for Spectrolite as a a relatively new gun owner, looking to improve my understanding of gun safety, accuracy at the range, and get familiar with gun maintenance. She is a gifted teacher and thoughtfully and thoroughly walked me through an overview of how to handle, clean, and shoot a 9mm and revolver. She had tons of tips and best practices for handling and accuracy. I learned a ton and had a blast! I'd highly recommend Spectrolite to anyone looking to boost their firearm knowledge and skills.

My husband and I had the pleasure of a private 3 hour beginner handgun course with Kelly. My husband has had experience shooting guns, but I on the other hand knew absolutely nothing about guns and was extremely anxious prior to the course. Kelly upon meeting was very warm and friendly. She immediately gave us properly fitted safety glasses and ear protection prior to entering the private range. Her course was very nicely paced with lots of pertinent information on gun safety & etiquette, how guns actually work on the mechanical level, how to take it apart, and the most exciting part... how to properly fire one!!! She uses diagrams and hands-on activities for us to get us used to holding the real thing. We also had a chance to try a few other handguns including Kelly's personal handgun she uses for professional competitions. She walked us through how to eventually get our own handguns. There were never silly or stupid questions with Kelly, she is a professional and we never ever felt patronized for our lack of knowledge. She is also very safety conscious, and corrected any bad safety habits immediately. Kelly is a gifted instructor and was so patient with me especially when my forearms and shoulders were getting quite fatigued from shooting. It was quite a novel but THRILLING experience for me and a fun date with my husband! Would recommend Kelly to anyone anxious about the idea of guns!!

Kelly is patient, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the safe firing of a handgun. I took her private introductory course which included a second session shooting at the range. Since I took the course, I felt comfortable going to shooting at the range myself to practice. The course will give you the basics including what gun to purchase, how to clean and maintain your gun, and how to safely fire and store your guns. Kelly is a good teacher and if you are anywhere near a beginner, it is a great course to take. The course gave me a deeper appreciation for handgun shooting. I also have something to aspire to with my gun, which is to be able to shoot the first two bullets in the same hole in the center of the bullseye like Kelly did.

Kelly is an amazing teacher! She very methodically and thoroughly explains every aspect of handgun use and safety and also provides great hands on experience both in the classroom and at the range. She teaches you all of the information you need to not only to pass the test, but also to actually feel confident and safe while handling firearms. As a woman just starting out in this hobby/sport, I really appreciated her detailed lessons and that she didn’t make me feel stupid for asking questions or needing more time to practice a skill. I would highly recommend this course to anyone interested in starting their journey as a gun owner or user.
