Having been in the shooting sports for many years I have learned the importance of good eye protection. I’ve had near perfect or better vision for most of my life and wanted to protect it. A year ago I found out I have an astigmatism in my dominant eye and it was confirmed by a new “blurry” red dot sight; it wasn’t a manufacturer defect. After getting glasses I realized the need for prescription shooting/safety glasses. I scoured the internet and found Sports Optical. Not only did they offer the same frames I have grown accustomed to, they would even make just the lenses for my existing frames. Every time I called with questions they were able to educate me on the different finish options; colors, tints, mirror, etc. for my glasses. Since I have multiple sets of the same frame, I wanted to try the new lenses out to see how they fit in the frame and continue using the frames I’m comfortable with. I am so very happy they were able to very nearly match my previous red/pink tint lenses that I am used to shooting with. I added a mirror finish to the front and they helped add additional sun protection. Once I had my prescription information to Sports Optical they told me it would take a couple of weeks, approximately four, to get my custom lenses and tints completed, they not only came in on time, but were delivered earlier than expected. I ordered a perscription Oaxley Radar EV path sunglasses with different prescriptions in each eye. The cutout solution from Oakley direct looks horrible and the lenses pop out. Thank you so much for helping me to navigate through your sports frames and lenses. I bought a pair of Mt. Falcon frames with your proprietary lenses and I have to say they are fantastic. In fact, I cannot believe how good these are compared to a pair of curved lenses I bought from a national manufacturer. These are flawless. I bought them to play pickle ball indoors in the evening because my regular glasses were sliding all over the place and I was constantly adjusting them. Also, sweating was just ruining the frame. After I found out they were safety rated, I also took them to the gun range to skeet shoot. I think this really helped my shooting because they were not sliding all over the place and the lens clarity was phenomenal. The one thing I would tell any buyer that is going to use these for sports or shooting is to not get bifocals and just distance correction like you recommended. Several years ago, I heard from a tennis pro that it is very difficult to play tennis in bifocals, but I never paid attention to that advice previously. Alex, told me the same thing. I was really nervous just putting distance correction in the frames because I was afraid they would not be functional, but they are far superior to any frame and lens that I have ever used- and I have owned quite a few frames and lenses.
