I guess, among all of the San Diego's swimming pools, this is the newest one. Dressing rooms are awesome! People working here is cool; and lifesavers are always in their watchtower, looking at the swimmers, doesn't matter if its crowded or if I was the only one swimming that day.

We've lived in the neighborhood for almost 2 decades. The pool was under construction for what seemed an eternity. While it was under construction, you couldn't use most of the park. It also caused minor traffic issues, but I kept telling my kids "Just wait! It's going to be awesome; and soooo much better than the previous pool! Voila! After months of waiting, they opened a pool alright. It's not open on the weekends, and the only hours of operation are at dinner time (6:30-8:30). Really? This is what we waited all that time for? Very disappointing use of taxpayers funds.

For 6 months they claimed Swanson pool is being "fixed" when the truth is they don't want to allocate resources to maintain it. So the Swanson pool is effectively closed, shuttered, and the aquatic center wasn't even intended for community use. The UC locals get the scraps - 630 p.m. - 830 pm, no weekends. This is an injustice. There needs to be transparency and accountability.

The city spent millions building a beautiful new pool but it's not open when most people in this neighborhood can actually use it. Believe it or not, the pool is not open at all on Friday or Saturday -- in the middle of August. That's ludicrous.
