I saw The Weeks & Thompson Springs here 2025-01-25. It was a great show. The upstairs area allowed for viewing of the stage, while not being crushed by the dancing crowd in the pit. The drinks were fairly priced ($5/ shinerbock tall boy). The 3 bathrooms were sufficient for the crowd, and the coat check was very convenient for the hot sweaty shows in the mid winter.

I was just at the Subterranean this evening and I had to post this review. First let me say the atmosphere is nostalgic and so much more intimate than larger venues. There are a lot of stairs but if stairs aren’t a problem it’s 10/10. But for me they are. But even so the staff was so friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make sure I could still enjoy the show. Never once making me feel uncomfortable for needing accommodations. I go to alot of concerts big and small. And I have been treated poorly at several. But tonight the staff made me feel welcome and that is something I don’t feel often. So I just want to say Thankyou.

Great small venue, which is great for a more intimate show. One thing you should know before going is that the stage is on the 2nd floor, and coat check and balcony are another level up. So, lots of stairs.

The Strokes - Last Nite themed event was just a money grab. I took 8 people for my birthday who all paid $20 for entry and we all couldn’t have been more disappointed. It was Juke Box style where anyone could text a song request for basically any indie pop/rock band and it just automatically played. Yes, we paid $20 per person to get access to an indie pop juke box along with hundreds of other people. On top of that, it was difficult to hear the instruments and vocals and it wasn’t even live music. Sound was awful. We stayed for maybe an hour. Worst part was that it was a terrible tribute to an incredible band. A lazy effort from people who sucked a ton of people into paying a cover with some good strokes themed marketing. Making cheap money off Julian Casablancas’ back. Even when they did get it right, the sound system butchered some of my favorite songs. I would say meaner things if this wasn’t a public post.
