Not small child friendly. I made several visits. Best day to come is on Saturdays usually the they have someone/ group doing some children activities like singing, story telling and imagination play. The art is cool and all ,the space is big, but I don’t see toddlers taking advantage. Maybe 6-8 yr old… maybe. The facility has more security /staff standing around protecting the art, rather than staff having art stations or activities. They do have some clay/ sculpting area which is a 10x20 room with two tables. Some coloring, collage making with two small tables. One basket of magnetic tile, blocks and books. They do have a dedicated stroller and coat closet with no locks or way to be secured.

My son and I have enjoyed the Sugar Hill Children's museum for the past several years. From the front desk receptionist, Cindy (who's always helpful and friendly) to all the Art teachers and story time collaborators are super welcoming and inviting. This is a great place where you can spend a couple of hours with your family having fun. Additionally, it's a good option to visit on rainy days since it’s indoors. The curated art pieces are always a delight since they rotate artists pretty My son always has a blast and he enjoys coming here on the weekends. I highly recommended visiting for local Harlemites as well as out of towners!

A place where kids can have fun and make art but it is not really a museum for kids as whatever little art is there is fairly modern and not easy to interpret. Still the kids that came with us had a lot of fun because of all the activities and the things they could make. The staff of the museum help to make things as well Tickets for kids are free for below 8 and $4 for kids till 17. Adults it is $7. They also have books and other small artwork for sale. They also have storytelling sessions which you can find out about by just calling them. The staff were quite friendly.

This is a curious thing lace. There are a number of hands on kids activities and there is a fair amount of serious politically inspired art about racial justice. It is not a big place, you won’t need much more than an hour to take it on. The build is clearly newly renovated by a designer who knows how to make gorgeous gallery spaces.
