A great neighborhood playground. it's a nice walk from the Lindbergh Marta Station. Bring your basket full of snacks.. and enjoy the day with the family💋🤗 This park is always clean and never overcrowded. My children and I love this park and we were considering moving back to the area just for this park. We love it that much.. The equipment isn't old and it's not brand new.. but it's functional.. and in good working order! We recommend this park to anyone.. you can have a great private party here.. and after you finish you can grab a bite at the local restaurants which are walking distance to this park!😍

Wonderful hidden spot, good for smaller toddlers who are learning the playground. The topography makes it easy to keep all the kids safely in the park area. Bring mosquito spray though

Nice small park tucked away in a residential neighborhood. A couple of sturdy swings of different sizes, a grass field large enough for small games, a full play apparatus with slides for the kids, and even a fire pit!
Lorraine
Very dark and mosquito filled. The playground equipment needs cleaning or replacing. The space is good but it definitely needs a makeover.

Love this park, except after it rains. Good play equipment, easy parking, lots of space. Bummer though that it does flood and stay wet for days.

What should you know about the facilities and amenities at Sunken Garden Park?
While Sunken Garden Park delights visitors with its natural charm, it’s important to set expectations regarding facilities. The park is generally praised for being well-kept and visually appealing, yet it has limited amenities onsite. Visitors have noted the absence of restrooms, so planning ahead is advisable, especially for larger groups or family gatherings involving young children. Parking is typically readily available and free, easing the logistics of bringing everyone together without concern for costly lots or tricky street parking. The park’s open nature means picnic areas are usable but not highly structured; there may be limited covered spaces or tables, so bringing your own picnic blankets and portable seating can enhance comfort. The environment is particularly appreciated for its cleanliness and minimal litter, contributing to a pleasant visit. However, casual visitors have mentioned minor wildlife nuisances, such as squirrels that may be somewhat bold, which is a small trade-off for the park’s overall ambiance. Being aware of these details helps your group prepare well to maximize enjoyment during your time there.

Its position within the city also makes it a safe, familiar spot where many visitors feel comfortable wandering at any time of day, whether early morning or late evening — the park opens from 5 a.m. until 11 p.m. daily. How can you prepare to make the most out of your meetup at Sunken Garden Park?
To fully enjoy your time at Sunken Garden Park, some simple preparations can enhance your group’s comfort and fun. Because the park has limited amenities like restrooms and picnic facilities, bringing essentials such as bottled water, snacks, portable seating, and sunscreen is wise, especially if your meetup will last several hours. If you plan to play informal sports like basketball or enjoy active games on the grass, consider bringing the necessary equipment and attire. For dog owners, packing pet accessories including water bowls and waste bags ensures a seamless experience for both pets and people. Since wildlife like squirrels may approach boldly, advising your group to respect the environment and avoid feeding animals helps maintain harmony. Arranging carpooling or discussing parking options beforehand can save time, as can coordinating your meetup timing to fit within park operating hours of 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. Finally, encouraging your guests to bring cameras or smartphones will let you capture the serene beauty of the park, creating mementos of your enjoyable day outdoors.
