I recently visited this sushi spot, and while it might work for casual diners, it didn’t meet the expectations of a sushi aficionado. The fish quality wasn’t as fresh as I’d hoped, and the flavors were fairly lackluster. Some pieces had an off texture, which was disappointing for a sushi lover. The service was decent, and the atmosphere was okay, but not enough to make up for the food quality. Additionally, the restaurant operates on a first-come, first-serve basis, and you have to put your name down for a wait. Given the subpar quality, it’s definitely not worth the wait. If you’re not particularly picky about sushi, you might find it passable, but there are far better options in the area. I won’t be returning.

A solid restaurant for sushi and other Japanese food in a casual setting. We have been coming here for sushi for the last 15 years. We got there before 11:30am on a Sunday and were seated immediately, but there were people waiting outside after noon. Their sushi and sashimi selection was excellent as usual. The sets come with miso soup, a salad, and a bowl of white rice. The pork katsudon rice bowl was delicious as well. It happened to be on Mother’s Day and they thoughtfully brought out some carnations for the moms at each table. The price is quite reasonable given the high-quality of food they serve. Overall it is a great experience.

A long time and standing strong Japanese restaurant. Before making the order, you should always check the "today's catch" board, the gen of the restaurant, like we always do. Never disappointed.

The extra special chirashi was unbelievably good. The fish melted in my mouth! Every piece of seafood was high quality. I just wish the rice had a bit more vinegar, but it was the best chirashi bowl I've had outside of Japan. The sake they serve is also quite delicious. Service was so friendly. We even got free fried shrimp, which was freshly made and crunchy. Line to get in is just a bit long and they don't have Apple/Google pay, but I highly recommend.

Classic sushi right in the heart of Mountain View. The place is really tiny so they're often rammed during peak meal times, so do expect a wait. Their boxes often feature a variety of other things that can add to the meal such as oranges, cabbage, and lettuce, and their miso soup was really flavourful. I personally prefer gyoza steamed, but the fried gyoza was still tasty, and the sashimi was light and fresh. I'd recommend it as a quick, casual stop for some good sushi.
