What happened to the Sutherland Street Amvets thrift shop??? The place now has bins of clothes, no more racks. Not happy and won't be back. You can't find anything with clothes dumped in bins. So disappointed. They lowered prices to $3 for each item, but you can't find anything because nothing is sorted. My first thought was they "are closing the location"? I went up to the front checkout to ask if they were closing the store. The man at the checkout was on his phone playing a game or??? so I just stood there waiting for a response. Took him almost a minute to realize I was standing there before he answered. Basically said they were trying something new, eveyrthing is $3.00 except for (I think) the blankets and furniture. Something like that. I usually spend at least $20 each visit. This time I just left. It was very sad. I like the idea of being able to go to a section to look for a specific item. I.E. I need workout clothes and here is the section for it. I am not going to dig through tons of bins to find an item. nope! I hope that @teamamvets goes back to racks. Will go to their Spring Valley location and see if they still have racks. Fingers crossed.

Thift store. Mainly street parking but you have to pay. Each week they offer discounts based on ticketed colors, it is random so you won’t know until you go. The mystery of treasurers/vintage you can find.

The place did not smell like urine. This was my first time coming here. I'll admit that it was a bit frustrating that all the clothes were mixed together in the bins. They price soft linens and blankets at 3 dollars which I think is great. I still found some nice clothes in the bins though, you just have to search. I recommend getting there early because I got there at 10:30-11:00 ish and the bins already felt picked through. They don't rotate bins.

Yo. RIP. They've turned my favorite thrift store of ALL TIME into some janky bin situation. Like, no more aisles and aisles of treasures just waiting to be discovered. They've all but emptied the place, installed large plastic bins (which aren't very full) and customers have to dig now. It's a really, really sad day for San Diego. I have been coming to Amvets for multiple decades, and will not be back again. I hope they decide to change it back eventually, but don't have high hopes. Sincerely, SAD IN SAN DIEGO

My niece wanted to thrift and chose Team Amvets as our destination! They have an array of clothing, furniture, home goods, and more. I walked away with. 99 green pants, and blue docker pants for $4.99. The prices were extremely reasonable, and I loved that everything was color coordinated...only downfall is that it wasn't in order of sizes. Otherwise we had fun thrifting! We weren't able to score a stall in the parking lot out front, so we had to settle on metered parking in front of the building. Happy Journeys ✌️
