I’ve tried several barre studios in the area, and, so far, The Bar Method Palo Alto is my favorite. The studio is always spotless and exceptionally well-managed—kudos to Laura and her team for running such a welcoming, organized space. I always leave feeling stronger, more energized, and motivated to come back. Most of the teachers are amazing: they bring expert training and a positive energy to every class. I especially appreciate how the instructors pay close attention to form, offer helpful adjustments, know your name and really make sure each client gets the most out of their workout. While everyone has their own preferences when it comes to teaching styles and personalities, I have to say that I usually "like" 50% of teachers when I go to a studio. Here, the number is 80-90%. I want to highlight a few instructors in Palo Alto (a couple are in San Mateo at the other studio, but I met them in Palo Alto), who make every visit a great experience: Gaby, Ann, Sherlene, Natalie, Dana, Madeline, Gaucha, etc. Note: I did not meet all instructors, mostly because of the class times, but these are my favorite teachers from the ones I met. On top of that, the class schedule is varied and flexible - I was afraid it was going to be boring after a while, but that has not happened yet - making it easy to find a time that works for me. The atmosphere is always encouraging and supportive, and there’s a real sense of community among both the staff and clients. Cheers!

The classes I attended here felt way less intense than my old studio. They focus a lot more on stretching here and are not as challenging overall.

Great studio--I have been going religiously for around 3 years! Very professional and hands-on. The instructors learn every student's name and offer frequent helpful adjustments. Even the receptionists learn your name, making you feel like you are a part of a community! Even though you are in a class of ~20 students, you get the experience of being in being in a small group class or with a personal trainer. There also frequently offer free classes when new instructors are being trained. I also love that Bar Method is always refining the technique they teach and pursue research and development to make sure they are giving you the safest workout with the most effective results. I have tried another big chain barre studio in Palo Alto and this one is significantly better for roughly the same price!

As a professional yoga teacher, I like to challenge myself with a variety of movements. The Bar Method is very different than yoga, but I love its comprehensive, well-designed program that strengthens and tones major muscle groups in the body. Each class is fast-paced with a mix of familiar and new routines. The classes are challenging, and you will notice the change in your body as you get stronger with regular attendance. The studio is welcoming with super friendly front desk staff and instructors who address you by your name. The instructors offer clear and precise cues, and their hands-on adjustments are a great help for better alignment and understanding one's body mechanics. The studio is clean, spacious and well organized. Online class booking and email notifications make it easy to organize your schedule. All in all, The Bar Method is an efficient and effective way to stay strong and fit. I highly recommend it.

An excellent and clean studio with friendly, knowledgeable staff. The workout will make you sore in places you didn't know you could be sore, but leave you wanting to come back for more. The classes provide a full body workout in an electric, upbeat atmosphere. The instructors provide personalized attention if adjustments are needed and also provide suggestions during the workout if you want to personally challenge yourself more too. In my first 30 days, I feel I am much stronger, have more energy, and can't wait to keep it up.
