I can’t recommend The Barre Code Chicago – River North enough! I’ve taken classes with Sarah, and she is an incredible instructor. She strikes the perfect balance of challenge and encouragement — pushing you to give your all while making you feel supported every step of the way. I always leave her class feeling stronger, more grounded, and ready to conquer the world. Bridget, the owner, is equally wonderful. Her energy is so warm and welcoming, and she offered me helpful posture tips that instantly improved how I moved through class. You can tell she genuinely cares about creating a positive and empowering environment. We also booked a private class for my company, and the feedback from the team was unanimously glowing. Everyone felt energized, motivated, and inspired — it was such a fun and refreshing experience.

Barre Code is my favorite fitness studio in Chicago! The owner, Bridget, and all the instructors and staff are super welcoming and kind. Some gyms feel like they’re just trying to sell you a membership, but I’ve never gotten that vibe here. Everyone’s genuine and positive. I know trying out a new gym class can feel intimidating, but I’m sure you’ll feel welcomed the moment you walk through the doors. Everyone is super friendly, and the environment is supportive, whether it’s your first class or your hundredth. The studio is clean, the equipment is in great shape, and the class vibes are always awesome. You can tell people actually enjoy being there. ☺️ Another thing I love: They run fun challenges throughout the year that help keep you motivated to show up and move your body. It’s a great way to stay consistent and feel part of the community! My favorite class is Sofia’s 8’s & 10’s: we use 8 and 10 lb dumbbells, and let me tell you, they bring the burn! Sofia’s great at giving clear instructions, checking our form, and keeping us motivated. The class flies by, and I always leave feeling so good (and sore in the best way). Highly recommend!!

Coach Sarah is absolutely amazing! She’s not only super knowledgeable, but also incredibly supportive and helpful. During my barre class, she took the time to offer me personalized alternative workouts that suited my needs perfectly, and it made such a difference. You can really tell she cares and wants everyone to feel comfortable and empowered. Honestly, she’s the best — I’m so glad I got to take her class!

I have been attending The Barre Code River North for almost 6 months now and it is my favorite workout studio I have ever attended!! All of the instructors are AMAZING and I love how they not only offer barre classes, but also strength, cardio kickboxing (Brawl) and strength classes. My first instructor was Carly and she continues to be one of my favorite instructors! She makes each class fun, encourages everyone to keep going even when things get difficult, and always provides clear instructions and modifications for the moves. I always look forward to when I can attend a class with Carly and thank you for getting me hooked on The Barre Code!!!!

Back to write a review again because I tried classes with two new instructors and also want to give a huge shoutout to Bridget the owner!! I recently tried the 8’s+10’s with Sofia accidentally when I couldn’t attend my regualr classes, and it was the best thing to happen. These classes are the perfect compliment to regular Barre. Sofia was very clear with her instructions, especially around breathing which I feel most instructors fail to focus on. Love the class modules so far and really enjoyed it! Also tried Sarahs classes. She is an instructor in training but definitely knows what she is doing! She builds a very different module compared to the last few instructors I have worked with but if you are looking for a high energy super intense workout- definitely take her class! I was forced to push myself to keep up which is always a good thing. She is super friendly and walks around the class to correct people if needed!! The first class that I attended with her, the music was loud and I read someone decided to not continue with BC just because of that! It is important to remember she was in training and the equipment is still new to her. It wasnt a big deal for me at all. It works better for me to follow the instructor by seeing their movements anyway. Bridgett the owner is the best!! I had to freeze the membership for a month due to travel but the next month was Ramadan and I wouldnt have been able to take classes again! Bridgett very graciously allowed me to freeze my memership the second time (which is generally not allowed) out of respect for my faith and I was so relieved I wouldnt have to worry about signing up again! Everyone at the front desk and the instructors are super friendly and these classes have been a game changer for me!
