Why The Beer Temple is a fun option when searching for things to do near me with friends and family

The Beer Temple, located in the Avondale neighborhood of Chicago, has established itself as a beloved spot for craft beer enthusiasts and friends looking for a great place to gather. Founded in 2013 by Chris and Margaret Quinn, it combines a craft beer bottle shop with a taproom opened in 2017, creating a unique dual experience where guests can sample from an impressive draft list or purchase bottles to enjoy later. The venue's warm, local atmosphere and knowledgeable staff make it a welcoming destination away from the bustle of downtown Chicago. A standout feature of The Beer Temple is its carefully curated beer selection, with drafts priced reasonably between $7 and $9, alongside a small but thoughtfully selected wine list. Since adding food to the mix, particularly their collaboration with Middle Brow—a locally celebrated pizza maker—the place has broadened its appeal. Their pizza offerings complement the beer perfectly, available for both dine-in and delivery, making this a versatile hangout spot suitable for any season. Special events, such as beer pairing dinners with notable breweries, also highlight The Beer Temple's commitment to creating memorable experiences for patrons. These elements combined make The Beer Temple a fantastic venue for meeting friends, enjoying excellent craft beverages, and savoring quality pizza in a relaxed neighborhood setting.

Don’t know why we didn’t know about this place but thanks to a quick Beer Near Me search on a Tuesday afternoon, we found it. Apparently they’re undergoing something of a transition. Great beer selection in the tap room and phenomenal everything selection in the market— things you haven’t seen elsewhere or heard about. Bummer that there are no flights but there are half/small pours available if you want to taste a few things in your session. Surprisingly extensive cocktail list including some draft. A few wines as well. So basically, something for everyone. Good music, limited food (currently Detroit-style pizza squares from Middlebrow), helpful if not always warm/friendly service. A few different seating areas for different feels. Quirky artwork throughout. Many drink related special events. Definitely will return.

Cool corner pub with great Detroit style pizza and a million different often elusive beers. Stopped in played some darts and drank some rare and taste brews. Music is great here too and not too loud. Pizza is by middle brow so it’s fire. Great place and The bottle shop is crazy good too.

The Beer Temple has an amazing beer selection but the real draw is their Detroit Style Pizza! You will be hard pressed to find better pizza any where else! Try it, you won't regret it!

A super fun spot for meeting friends for beer in an eclectic church vibe atmosphere. Most probably come for the beer but the Detroit style pizza is next-level! On a thick, chewy and crunchy bed of sourdough, gooey cheese and high quality toppings make for a can’t-stop-eating it moment. Don’t miss the salad either! This is a favorite of ours now. It is a do-not-miss visit for beer and pizza lovers.
