Someone donated some plates to my family so I recently had the pleasure of tasting some meals from The Cook's Nook and WOW, I'm impressed! The serving size is actually filling, which as a big eater, I was very surprised by because it didn't look like it would fill me up but it actually did!!! I also loved that it's not over salted and yet it's so flavorful! The meals we've tried so far have made our bellies and souls very satisfied and happy!

I had the pleasure of meeting Joi Chevalier during an Austin video interview. This video project was designed to celebrate her entrepreneurial spirit as an award recipient: Best Austin Startup 2019. Joi is the owner The Cook's Nook, which is an incubator for local food businesses. I got to see behind the scenes, seeing people make delicious shish-kebabs in the kitchen, while another team of foodies joined forces in the meeting space. I enjoyed learning about the incredible success stories that many of Austin's food-focused entrepreneurs are achieving thanks to Joi and The Cook's Nook. This is a tremendous local resource for Austin's food producers and restaurants.

The management expects their newcomers/new tenants to pay 3 months in advance, even though these are NEW businesses that are just starting out. Their rates are absurdly inflated to cover the cost of all the amenities that they think companies need. You will likely wait days to receive a response back from this company, which operates with a Google sponsored number(not a real number). Ultimately, if you do end up using this kitchen, you will find yourself upset for paying too much for a kitchen that is difficult to navigate to and not all that "state of the art". It's really just a converted double wide trailer put inside a residential neighborhood. My advice is to find a DIFFERENT kitchen that: 1. Has an actual dedicated working phone number, not a generic google line that doesn't even ring to a specific phone. 2. Has a professional staff that will answer your phone call or email messages. 3. Charges regular rates comparable to other kitchens, and not trying to force small companies(just starting out) to pay for their expensive trailer renovation/remodel.
