July 2025 The Local was an impressive setting to enjoy brunch. I love the decor and the staff felt like family. There was a nice large bar and all indoor seating and had that old fashioned early 1900s feel. I ordered the Breakfast Sammie. Like the menu said it was cheesy scrambled eggs, candy bacon, chipotle Honey Aioli on a Potato Bun. It was very tasty with great flavor and enjoyed it very much. It was clean and perfect making it one of the best breakfast sandwiches I had.

Don’t sleep on this gem! Wonderful service, really delicious and creative menu, and an atmosphere and decor like no other in south Austin. We’ve been several times and leave each visit more impressed than the last. The biscuits are crispy, flaky perfection with a subtle maple-infused butter, the monte cristo is quirky and delightfully tasty, and the drinks are spot on every time. We are hooked!

The Local on Brodie Ln is hands-down one of Austin’s best-kept secrets! From the moment we walked in, we were blown away by the experience. Our bartender, Tom, was an absolute expert—knowledgeable, welcoming, and clearly passionate about his craft. His cocktail recommendations were spot-on, and every drink he made was perfectly balanced and creative—some of the best we’ve had in Austin. He also guided us through the food menu, and everything he suggested was phenomenal. The service overall exceeded expectations, and the food was next-level delicious—thoughtfully prepared and packed with flavor. On top of all that, the management was warm, friendly, and made us feel right at home. The Local truly lives up to its name—it’s the kind of place you want to keep coming back to. A true hidden gem!I’m

One of our favorite spots in the neighborhood. We keep coming back. Lovely ambiance, cute bar area, really nice staff, good food, good drinks. Never a wait. Their biscuits and the butter are delicious. It’s like a maple salted butter, which I could eat with a spoon! We also really like the Shady Hollow scramble - like comfort food meets egg scramble. And the Monte Cristo was so interesting and so delicious.

We had the Monte Cristo with fries and the ATX Burger with fries. Also an old fashioned cocktail. The food was exceptional. The old fashioned was really good. We shared the brownie with vanilla ice cream and it was amazing . Strongly recommend this restaurant.
