The Owl is actually two bars: Before ~9pm it's a neighborhood dive. An excellent happy hour, sparse customers, the baked-in smell of decades of bodily fluids, and an eclectic soundtrack depending on who's tending bar. After ~9pm, there's usually a DJ in the big open dance floor in back. The music is turned up to 11, you won't be able to hear your friends anymore, and it usually gets pretty packed. Every time I've been there past 11pm there's been either a fight or some R-rated PDA. Don't get me wrong - I'm not trying to deter you, just want you to know what you're in for. Either way, the taps are usually a good mix of options, the prices aren't insane (check out HH for a great deal), and I've yet to meet an unfriendly bartender. FYI - there is no food here.
