I couldn't be more impressed with John Stinson and the staff here at TRCOA. It's been an incredible experience seeing how much this program has grown since I first started here, back in January 2011. I can honestly say that one of the main reason's I enrolled at TRCOA was for the One-On-One Mentorship. It was by far the best decision I have ever made. John Stinson and the staff at TRCOA truly care about each and every student. They strive with the best of their abilities to make sure you are taught the skills to not only become a successful Audio Engineer, but to also become a successful business owner. You will not find another program out there that give's you the opportunities like this one. I highly recommend this program to anyone out there trying to pursue their career in this field.

The Recording Conservatory of Austin is the best audio engineering program in Austin... Possibly even Texas. I am a former student and have been in the professional sector for the last couple of years. The education that I have received from TRCoA has set me apart from others in my field. I have encountered individuals whom had attended other audio engineering programs and my knowledge far surpassed anything that they had ever been taught in their respective programs. I feel this is because at TRCoA a student receives more one on one training and guidance from experienced mentors than at other institutions. The facilities are state of the art and constantly being upgraded. Every artist I have brought into the studio has been blown away by the quality of the studio & the experience. TRCoA comes highly recommended.

I am currently a student at TRCOA and have absolutely loved my experience here thus far. John Stinson and the staff at the conservatory do a great job of working one on one with each student, creating a more intimate learning environment. They teach you the skills you need to know to be a working engineer in this competitive field. With the help of top of the line facility's and equipment, we students get hands on experience with industry standard room's and gear, that help familiarize us to be adaptable engineer's for any working studio.

The decision to come to The Recording Conservatory of Austin was the best choice I've ever made and has entirely shaped my life. The one on one classes with current, working professionals from all disciplines of the industry was one of the many things that made this program special. This is easily the best audio program I've ever seen and worth every penny. It is self-driven, however. That means for some people it won't be right for and others will take to it like a fish to water. Do the work, get the rewards. If you do the work you'll come out with a ton of new friends, a functioning business and will be doing something you love, forever. My stats: 3500 (clocked) lab hours, approximately 90 songs recorded/edited/mixed/mastered for 15 clients spanning rock, metal, country, jam, rap, blues, singer-songwriter, classical, choral, two audio books, tons of live sound (SXSW 2014, 2015, Austin Psych Fest, Euphoria Fest, Art Outside, Texas Motor Speedway) got to meet and work with some awesome well known producers, Grammy winning groups and a film project in just under 2 years.

Going to TRCoA was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I graduated in Aug ’12 and have been working as a freelance producer/engineer since. The first time I visited the studio, the staff, the professional design and the view of the hills area really won me over. John and his staff truly take the time to teach you what you need to know and more. The best part was not only the skills I gained as an audio engineer, but the skills I gained as a business owner and entrepreneur. Things like getting a DBA, finding and maintaining client relationships, website development/seo and balancing your cost and expenses are points of emphasis at TRCoA. The events and monthly open houses also give you a chance to run live sound and pick the brains of other industry professionals like CJ Eiriksson, Tim Palmer, Matt Noveskey, and Dwight Baker. After graduating, I still have access to the studios, and still receive emails or phone calls when new client opportunities arise. I don’t know what else anyone looking to have a successful career in this field could ask for.
