OMD was awesome! The venue has a LOT of women’s bathroom stalls thankfully and a great sound system. The downside of this older building is that it was extremely hot. I don’t know if this was related, but there was an incident with emergency responders present. I’d come back, but I’d be concerned about the heat and recommend bringing a fan like I did!

The Riviera has always been one of my favorite venues in Chicago. The recent plaster renovations are gorgeous. Seeing Ministry again, at the same venue, 37 years later holds a special place in my cold, dead heart!

I loved this venue. When the bass hit you felt it! The staff was great as well as the bands we saw, Carpetman and Hippie Sabotage. I look forward to going there again. If you get a chance to see something there do it.

The staff, show and seating were great. The place needs some painting and upkeep. Looks like it hasn't been remodeled since I first visited 39 years ago.

What should groups know before visiting The Riviera Theatre?

Drink prices at the bar are typical for concert venues, and while service is generally fast and friendly, budgeting accordingly is advised. Parking can be found conveniently nearby; early arrival will help secure free street parking. Despite these factors, the overall positive vibe, great acoustics, and committed staff ensure that groups leave having enjoyed a worthwhile night out together. Planning ahead can maximize the comfort and fun for you and your friends.
