I’ve spent several years living in zen monasteries, where tea became a part of my everyday life, and so I always appreciate the opportunity to have any sincere experience with tea, where the mundane becomes sacred simply through attention and awareness. From the environment, to the service, to even the menus themselves, there was not a trace of doubt in my mind about the level of attention that goes into creating such a wonderful tea experience for anyone fortunate enough to visit this store. I’m not joking when I say that this tea house and store would be a part of my reasoning if I ever decided to move to Portland. I just ordered several of their tea tins off of Amazon as well. I have been a fan of this teahouse since it first opened. It is perfect for celebrating special moments with loved ones or special friends, it is an oasis of peace in a bustling world. I always immediately feel more grounded and relaxed upon entering. I love trying different specially curated teas and the delectable snacks from the extensive menu. I appreciate that the cuisine offered spans the globe. I always feel well treated by the staff and owner. These qualities have remained constant over the decades. I have never had less than a lovely experience here.

Such a quaint place to sip and snack. My friend and I spent 2 hours here chilling and catching up over tea. I love how they perform the tea ceremony with some of the more traditional teas. We got to see them pour out the first rinse over a pet dragon! And the food was simple and delicious. This place has a cozy welcoming vibe and it's great for groups and solo folks as well. I could see myself coming along and bringing a book to read while sipping tea here. I also love that they have both caffeinated and non caffeinated teas for those who are more sensitive and want to have great sleep after enjoying their tea. Such a gem!
