Me and my girlfriend have been on the hunt for the best red velvet cake in Atlanta, and I believe we’ve found the spot. We’ve been to numerous locations that simply sell chocolate cake with some red dye and call it “Red Velvet Cake,” when in reality it’s not. THIS is the spot to go if you’re looking for some ACTUAL red velvet cake that your grandma used to make for those after-church lunches! The cake itself is absolutely delicious. It’s soft and moist, practically melting in your mouth. None of that dry, firm cake that sat in the oven for far too long. And the icing used for the cake? Phenomenal, great cream cheese taste that pairs perfectly with the red velvet flavor. Not only is it the best red velvet we’ve had, it’s truthfully one of the best desserts we’ve had. Once you eat one, it’s hard not to go for another. I can say for a fact, if you’re looking for that genuine red velvet flavor, this is the place to go! Chef April was also kind enough to gift us 6 additional cupcakes, on top of 2 fresh-out-of-the-oven cupcakes to try while we were waiting for her to package our ordered cupcakes. They were absolutely delicious out of the oven, but even when we returned home, the cupcakes that had rested were just as good. She is a kind soul who obviously loves and understands her craft! We will be returning in the future, and I hope anyone who is reading this review gives her a chance to show you why to come to The Velvet Bar.

Had went and tried this place for the first time after seeing it come across my feed on TikTok and I must say they didn’t disappoint. I had ordered the bunt cake (with pecans), cake in a jar and some cookies (with pecans). The bunt cake and the cake in the jar were both very moist and buttery. Both the cakes were not overly sweet with the cream cheese frosting helping to add just the right amount. Though I would have rather had the cake in the jar with the pecans to add that crunch but it wasn’t available at the time. The cookies were just the right texture soft and chewy in the middle with a crunchy exterior. And was also not overly sweet with a buttery finish. Customer service was top tier as I was greeted the minute I walked in. I was also explained the menu since it was first time ordering and was explained waiting times for items that were freshly being made. I will most definitely be back to order more as well as try their bark out. So all my red velvet lovers this most definitely is a win on my book.

I’m giving 5 stars off the customer service alone. The owner has some of the best customer service that I have experienced. I purchased some cake jars and a half dozen cupcakes. The cake jars were a 9 out of 10 and the cupcakes were a 9 out of 10 for me. I wanted to try the red velvet cookies but they were sold out. I don’t live close by so I may order the cookies online and have them shipped. The inside was decorated so beautifully I couldn’t stop looking around.

I’m officially obsessed with The Velvet Bar! The red velvet cupcakes here are hands down the best I’ve ever had. Incredibly moist, rich in flavor, and baked to absolute perfection. The icing? A dream — smooth, creamy, and just the right amount of sweetness. Not overpowering at all, which lets the flavor of the cake shine through. Every bite felt like it was made with love. If you’re a red velvet fan, this place is heaven. The service- amazing! The two girls me and my husband talked to were so nice! Would go back just to talk to them again! 10/10 recommend!
