Treasure Island Stamps & Coins is, well, a treasure and an island in this hustle and bustle known as the Silicon Valley! After searching for some obscure coins, I happened upon Treasure Island Stamps & Coins after reading some internet reviews. I stopped by a few days later at the shop. It's located on the corner of El Camino Real and Wilton Ave (across from Hong Kong Restaurant). Even though the shop was busy that day, the owner (Rudy) was very helpful. He patiently answered my many questions and offered some great tips. I didn't buy anything during that first visit but he seemed perfectly okay with that. A few days later, I returned. The owner remembered me from my previous visit. We spoke about coins and stamps. He offered even more insight about coins too. He was very honest about coins and their value. I ended up making some great purchases for which I've been very happy along with gifts for nephews, nieces and my dad. Interestingly, I've found prices to be better than what I found on eBay and other online outlets. The shop is quaint. It certainly isn't pretentious like some coin and stamp shops. It feels like a friendly community shop that truly values those who visit. PARKING: On my first visit, I parked along the street down Wilton Ave. However, I discovered that you can park along El Camino Real in front of the shop as well as the private parking lot located next to the south side of the building. PAYMENT: The shop accepts cash or credit/debit card. BUYING/SELLING: I haven't sold anything, but I have been in the shop when people sold items. They seemed very happy with the process and what they were offered.

Rudy is a great person and this is a really good place for treasure hunting. I feel like he need more help recently since there are so many customers and he do not have enough energy to handle it.

Went here to have some coins get looked at but unfortunately the man running the shop may have had a bad day because he was rude. I felt rushed to leave not having my question answered. when a person works with the public they should have great customer service. Not make a possible customer feel unwanted. Nice shop.....rude service will not go back there

What a great place! This is one of the last, if not the last storefronts for stamps and coins in the Bay Area. The owner is friendly and prices things fairly. I got vintage postcards and old stamp covers at a great price. Well worth the trip!
