It took me a little while to finally get to check this out (due to a weather cancellation for my first tour), but it was well worth the wait! The tour guide, Jacquelyn, new ample history about both the neighborhood we were in and the specific restaurants we visited. She created a very pleasant atmosphere for the tour, and masterfully handled any questions directed to her. Each spot we checked out was equal parts hip and delicious. I think that this type of tour is one anyone can enjoy. For tourists who want to get an authentic Raleigh experience, these tours focus heavily on some of the less spoken-about, historically-rich neighborhoods (which happen to also be quite culinarily rich!). And for folks like me, who've been around for a bit, I was still introduced to a new dining spot and given a lot of facts that I hadn't known before about the neighborhood. I've done the Boylan Heights tour so far; I definitely want to look into doing the Oakwood tour at some point soon!

Mick was an incredible tour guide! His passion truly exudes from him in all his storytelling. He was incredibly knowledgeable and clearly did some deep research into the history he covered on the tour. He really went above and beyond to print photos of things he referenced so you could understand more about the topic. We always say that it'll be a great tour if the tour guide really cares, and Mick REALLY cares. We really appreciated his attention to the details to make this such a special gift for us and our friends. Great job, Mick!!

My husband and I took the Oakwood Tour on a beautiful day in March. It was and easy walk, we are 65 and 64. The tour guides gave interesting facts about the houses along the way between restaurants. The food was great in each place; very filling. We would do another tour in the future!
