Had an unforgettable time volunteering with ACT Theatre in Seattle for their production of "Twelfth Night "! 🎭 From the moment we stepped into the space, the volunteers were welcoming, the staff went above and beyond, and the cast? Absolutely phenomenal! We laughed so much during the performance - it was the kind of night that reminds you why live theatre is pure magic. If you haven’t seen Twelfth Night yet, seriously - grab your tickets! It’s clever, heartfelt, and full of energy. Huge thanks to everyone at ACT for making it such a special experience. 💚

The theatre design was unique - the stage was in the center with seating fanning out. It was a nice way to view the show. Parking is an issue (as for all downtown events) but it was not terrible.

Absolutely joyful teaming of Seattle Shakespeare and ACT. Much more than I was expecting. Twelfth Night was the affirming romp we needed. Great interpretation with musical interludes which could have been sold out performance on their own. When certain scenes occurred, you could feel the audience lean in, all of us holding our breath. Ushers and staff were great. The theater is really the perfect size as we felt like the players were looking us in the eye, alternatively appealing for help or sizing us up, appropriately depending on the moments of the play. For one of the lighter plays, the quality of analysis we overheard during intermission was really spot on and revealing about nuanced casting choices and blocking. We’ll be back!

Went to see Twelfth Night and it was wonderful. The stage is small but there's so much tech to it! This show had a beautiful set with two stories, a hidden piano built into a bar, a powerful projector that covered the whole stage, and a working fountain set piece that emerged from below the stage seamlessly. Beyond the stunning set, the cast was excellent. Their expressions and the inhabitation of the characters had the audience both rapt and roaring. Also, every member of the cast doubled as an accomplished singer or musician or both! They were all so, so multitalented and a joy to watch. Any complaints of Shakespeare being boring or hard to comprehend were easily shattered by their giddy performance. My only minor disappointment with this play was more in a script/directorial choice. This show was advertised as a more inclusive representation of love, but the two gay subplots they added in were both disregarded in the end and one was treated as deranged (due to other factors but still). It would have been really impressive and affirming to have mixed up the plot in a way that a gay relationship was depicted as reciprocated at least or that allowed gay characters to end up together. The main characters, for example, are pretty easily set up to be switched around. It was still a really lovely experience and I'm very much looking forward to see what comes out of the merger between ACT contemporary and Seattle Shakespeare company.

Parking is very unclear across the street, and that's more about the garage than anything else. This doesn't have an entrance inside the Convention Center so only walk outside on Union. The theater itself was wonderful. A small, intimate place with a very professional cast.
