Today is March 17, 2024- I really wanted to like Timothy Ateek, who has become the pastor now; two excellent teaching pastors are gone. Tim’s constant message is what he wants his healthy church to be; how we can serve the church. Asking if members are “all in” as church members, is like asking if Jesus Christ is being reason for being in church today. His overemphasis on how he expects his members embrace the church and act to serve the church is NOT the reason why most people attend the church in my opinion. Pastors Todd Wagner and Elmore delivered strong educational, instructional and inspirational lessons on how we could incorporate Biblical wisdom to live more successful lives helping others and ourselves. Their lessons inspired us to want to serve the church. The difference between pastor Ateek and others is like a parent who says “clean up your room,” opposed to one who teaches why cleaning one’s room can show appreciation to God for having a room to clean. Asking members to park cars is not the message most of us want to hear. Give us a spiritually inspired Biblical lesson relevant to who you are, relevant to your life and ours to show why we should want to park cars! It’s not there anymore! That’s what pastors Wagner and Elmore brought each Sunday sadly missing today. Enough about what the pastor Ateek wants from us to give the church; give us wisdom lessons to spiritually inspire and encourage us to be better Christians, a reason why we want to park cars. Please find a pastor more congregation oriented than church oriented; please give us a pastor knowing how one fulfills the other.
