This school is fantastic! The classes are interactive, with a solid balance between lectures and hands-on skills. The coursework is demanding and the tests are a bit different from the norm, but if you stay on top of the reading and put in the work, you'll do just fine.(emphasis on the reading part. You can’t get a better resource than the textbook and not reading will only help you fall behind) Shoutout to Christina—she’s an amazing instructor! She’s thorough, supportive, and always makes sure you have the resources you need to succeed. Her teaching method was a huge factor in my success!

Really great course, definitely would recommend. Difficult, but if you put in the work it’s very doable. I took the Saturday course which worked great with my schedule. Danielle and Christina were great teachers and made the content easy to understand and remember.

I took the Monday Wednesday Sunday 3-month course and it was great. The class is rigorous, but if you put in the effort it is passable. Use all of your resources when studying, because failure to do so may leave you behind. The teachers are kind and very knowledgable, and this course is a great way to meet motivated new friends! Thanks Christina for the great course!

TL;DR: In an accelerated course, the instructor is what makes all the difference. If you’re anywhere in the San Diego area, Spencer is the instructor you want. I don’t write many reviews, but it’s fun to write one for Spencer. This is what I’d have wanted to know when picking a course… The accelerated course is intense, it takes effort and a full time commitment. You’ll learn a lot, and the material is super interesting. If I had more time, I’d have enjoyed a slower paced course. But either way I’d make sure Spencer was teaching. His experience in EMS and law enforcement is hard to match. He is a master of the course material, and expertly toes the line between preparing you to pass the course/NREMT and insisting on the fundamentals that matter most as an EMT. Practically, you’re going to be spending 200 hours over five weeks listening to someone, which could be a slog, but Spencer keeps it good vibes and keeps the class entertaining. Everyone in our class was a fan, and anyone who put in the work (almost everyone) did very well. Spencer is 5 star instructor, and that’s what made the difference for all of us learning so much in a month. 3 tips… 1. This class is all about the lectures. Sit up front. Listen and note everything he says. Better still if you can type it (you’ll end up with the perfect searchable study guide for the final). Spencer doesn’t say anything accidentally. You can literally not read the book, note everything he says in class, review the slideshows, and do very well. 2. That said, get the book in advance and pre-read/skim the chapters (or chapter outlines on JB Learning) ahead for the next week. It’s much easier to keep up when you’re reading ahead instead of scrambling to cram 10+ chapters into your head between Monday and Wednesday. 3. Do the signs & symptoms homework for next week the weekend before. You’ll feel more prepared and learn a lot more than if you scramble to knock them out during the week. Bottom line, Spencer is one of those awesome instructors who has deep knowledge in this field, loves to teach, and cares about his students. I can’t imagine any accelerated course in SD can compete. Completely unrelated to the course and to the San Diego campus, the only negative experience was had to do with one of the WCEMT owners Matt. He was very helpful when we chatted before I signed up. I reached out to him several times by phone and email during first week of class for a request only he could approve. Never heard back from him. He chose to ignore the request, not something I appreciated. He’s lucky to have a super star instructor like Spencer (and Rachel, who is no longer there) who went above and beyond to make sure everyone always felt taken care of.
