people think greenlake is gross and polluted, it is not. We have swum here for years and never even got ear infections or swimmers rash. There have been periods in the past when green algae grew in the lake usually after rains and warm weather, not so much anymore and it is posted when it happens. East and west beach are almost identical except one has lawn the other has sand. usually there are lifeguards at both but recently only at the west beach. The diving boards are awesome low one is probably 4-5' off water and high is probably about 12'. guards don't care what you do(flips, dives etc.) as long as you wait for the area to be clear. water warms up nicely in summer but we have swam even in december, really cold. you usually can find parking close enough to not be a huge walk but may have to search a little.

Great views of the park and a good pits top for our bike ride, though this portion is lightly trafficked and fewer folks (may be a pro or a con for someone).
