I was able to attend 4 classes at yoyoyogi on my recent visit to Portland Oregon and I loved it. Really welcoming people, beautiful environment and knowledgeable staff and teachers. :)

Wonderful experience on a drizzly Saturday morning. Very welcoming at the front desk and an informative walk-through of the facilities, which were impressive. The hot-yoga space was large and filled but maintained the promised 100F. The practice was led by Holly who had buckets of motivation and based on my limited experience incorporated a lot more flow than I traditionally am exposed to in hot yoga. Very challenging and nice to have a mantra to set me up for the rest of the weekend too. Not cheap but well worth it, I will definitely return!

Excellent studio. Friendly people. The space is beautiful and every class I’ve taken has been with a highly knowledgeable instructor. Thanks Thomas, Kyra and Dena. I’ll be back when I next visit Portland.

As a visitor to Portland for a short work trip, I discovered Yoyoyogi and they truly became my "home studio away from home". 10/10 would recommend and will visit again if ever in the area! They offer what I would consider a "traditional" yoga practice, which is mindful, reflective, and profound, without being religious or americanized. The setting is a large, open and airy studio, with wood floors and exposed brick providing a peaceful atmosphere. They offer a variety of classes, so it was easy to find sessions to fit my schedule, and I went every day (6) during my stay. I had a different instructor each time, and all were professional, insightful and constructive. The classes were also differentiated to accomodate varying levels of skill and experience, so that no one is left out or feels intimidated. One session I attended was a 2-hour special class from Alex Cole that was nothing short of TRANSFORMATIVE. Other nice, thoughtful features that many studios don't offer is changing areas as well as showers in case you want to rinse off after a sweaty heated session, and complimentary water and tea. Another thing that I appreciated is that they offer a visitors package which is extremely reasonable for anyone expecting to take more than two classes, featuring unlimited classes with mat and towel rental included (as I did not travel with my gear). Overall I had a wonderful experience and felt so welcomed by the Yoyoyogi community. Anyone looking for a traditional yoga experience, which is as thought provoking as it fitness enhancing should give them a try.

I've just celebrated one year of going to YoYoYogi and my only regret is that I didn't find it sooner. It's become my yoga home thanks to the community they cultivate and well-rounded teachers with knowledge far beyond just the physical practice of yoga. I chose to pursue their 200-HR Yoga Teacher Training towards my NASM CPT continuing education and am so glad I did. The instructors were excellent, the curriculum thorough, and there were many opportunities to build confidence teaching.
