A few years ago, I used to play ping pong at the N. Lamar senior. I was an OK player. Then, I competed against members of the Asiannl American Resources Center, and they were much better. I asked if I could learn from them. They invited me here and that's how I discovered this wonderful center. Besides ping ping, they have a lot of activities for senior Asian but not only ping pong. They have multiple exercise classes, yoga, Tai chi, even dance classes, and sometimes shows and concerts. They also offer cards games and other table games. They offer a garden club where seniors grow their own plants and flowers. Bollywood dancing, cooking classes, technology classes if you want to improve your computer skills. Arts & crafts as well as calligraphy. Health classes and many more. See their website for more info. All of tho say that we are lucky to have such center for seniors in Austin. All of that thanks to the city of Austin.

This is an amazing community center that doubles as an art museum/gallery. There is a lot of help that is offered here for those who need and and they also host a variety of events. Some events they have had in the past are career fairs and cultural events related to various Asian cultures. There are also various exhibits in the large ball room area and in the hallway and foyer area, as well as some permanent artwork. Everything about this place is super nice, and it is definitely a must-see.

Eveyone seemed comfortable and friendly. Came down for a Lunar New Year themed craft fair. While I wish it was bigger, they made sure every artistian was of Asian descent.
