I have only played the back nine holes at Avery Ranch golf course twice in the evenings as the summer temps dropped below 100°. The staff in both the pro shop and the cafe are super friendly. It is a beautiful course with lots of shade, a breeze and deer. It is challenging but very fun. I am a high handicapper with a bad back. Update: My 7 year old grandson just finished their Jr. Golf Camp. He loved it. I drove him on the course the last day of the camp when they had them drive, pitch and putt 3 holes. What a privilege to play such a beautiful golf course. The highest praise that I can give the camp was that they turned my grandson who is a lukewarm golf enthusiast into an enthusiastic fan of golf. I have been trying for years to get my grandson to play golf (I put golf clubs in his hands at age 4) with little success. His first Golf Camp at age 5 did not stick. When he finished camp this week on Thursday he immediately hit me up for a round of golf the very next day! Thank you Avery Ranch Golf Club!

I played there with three my golf playing partners or upon Thursday, May 1 Pros 1. The course was in amazing shape. The greens rivaled Star Ranch. Fairways were excellent with no weeds. Tee boxes were excellent also. The rough was not too long. 2. Lots and lots of wild flowers and birds 3. Pace of play was good 4. the ball dispenser to the tee at the practice range was pretty cool and worked well Cons 1. The Marshall kept harassing us even though the group behind us never caught up and we were playing on a four hour and 15-minute round. 2. you may want to consider giving free range balls to seniors (most of us are on fixed incomes)

Course was beautiful and overall, maintained. Some of the bunkers are unplayable, meaning filled with rocks and dried mud but only a few. The views and elevation changes made for some memorable shots. For the price of the round, I was surprised to see basic carts with no GPS and flag sticks with no reflectors to make range finding easy, which was a little disappointing. My suggestion would be to add in one of these features at some point. Overall, nice experience.
