The food was fantastic. The fried pickles are thin and crisp chips, and the jalapeño ranch has a lot of good flavor and spice. Both the flatbreads we ordered were also very good. The bacon hot honey one though has cranberries on it without listing cranberries as an ingredient on the menu. Service was lackluster at best. They weren't super busy, but our drinks that we ordered with our appetizer didn't come out until after our MAIN COURSE. Literally, it took 45 minutes to make 2 drinks. Music was also so loud I could barely talk to my partner, but its in a college town so they get a pass for that.

Bar Louie near University Village offers a vibrant atmosphere perfect for socializing. The menu boasts a variety of tasty dishes and cocktails, and the staff is friendly and attentive. On Tuesdays they have a happy hour menu for their burger from 4pm-7pm Their Salmon Sliders are very simple and was not my favorite choice. The set back was that we had a service charge fee of 18% included which I believe it should be an option, and usually it is applied when it is a large group in a table, not when only 2 people ordering food.

I’ve been a loyal customer for over 7 years, and I’ve never had such a terrible experience at Bar Louie Carmel INDIANA - until now. It’s honestly disappointing to see how poorly the new staff is running things. We recently received an official email from Bar Louie stating that the location closes at 1:00 am and that the kitchen remains open until the end of the shift. Based on that, we arrived with plenty of time and tried to order food at 12:28am. To our surprise, the bartender told us that the kitchen didn’t want to take any more orders because they were upset about receiving a food ticket at 12:30 am. When we pointed out that it was only 12:28 and showed her the email confirming that the kitchen stays open until 1:00 am, she dismissively said that the email “wasn’t for this Bar Louie, only for other locations.” Seriously? So you’re sending misleading information to your customers, or is your staff just ignoring company policy? In all my years coming here, I’ve never seen such disorganization and lack of professionalism. The service was rude, confused, and completely out of line. To be clear: I will come back, because I know this location and what it used to stand for. The staff doesn’t define the entire place—but the attitude and behavior of the new team is absolutely unacceptable and a major disappointment. I truly hope Bar Louie takes a hard look at who they’re hiring and how that’s affecting loyal customers.
