Super high prices. It's like what you think of when you think of thrift stores except for the sky high prices. I mean they're worse than Goodwill .The books are kind of cool

Love this second hand store, it's my favorite old school style thrift store. Colored tag sales Saturday's special % off . They have a beautiful collection of antiques in the show case room. Not really sure if that's what they call it, but it's a special room up front where the best of the best goes. The tea cups are a favorite of mine. Bone China, hand painted, gold inbosed. Great place for a cup and saucer collector. Also a great place to pick up adult undergarments for your elderly loved ones. Great buys on everyday clothes and shoes purses and handbags. The last time I was there I asked on chance if they had a sit under hair dryer, well in fact they did and a sweet gal went down stairs to get it for me. Thank you so much.

Huge selection although you do have to dig for gold. Good sales, but prices are marked up heavily. Lots of fast fashion here. No fitting rooms. They use staples to attach price tags to clothes, which ruins the fabric- I’ve never seen that before!

The prices have really gone up since my last visit. I found several dresses at $39 & 6.99 for a plastic bag with random toys in them. The markup is a bit much. There are no dressing rooms, so you have to try stuff on in the aisle. If I'm buying a dress for 39 dollars, I should be able to try it on first.

One of the top activities is organizing a thrift store scavenger hunt, which turns your shopping expedition into an energetic and interactive challenge. Split into teams and use a list of quirky or specific items to find, such as vintage clothing, unusual kitchen gadgets, or memorabilia. Set a time limit and then meet up afterward to display your discoveries and vote on creative categories like “funniest find” or “best bargain.” This game fosters teamwork, laughter, and a little healthy competition, making the experience more engaging than typical shopping. Beyond just the shopping aspect, visiting this thrift store as a group creates numerous opportunities to connect by sharing stories related to found items or discussing plans for upcycling unique pieces. The atmosphere encourages conversations sparked by curiosity — why someone chose a particular item, how they might use it, or memories the style evokes. These conversational moments build rapport and add layers of meaning to your time together. Furthermore, because the store’s pricing is budget-conscious, it removes the usual stress about spending, so your focus stays on enjoyment and connection rather than cost. Groups can also plan a small post-shopping gathering nearby to further discuss and reminisce about the finds, making the day linger in everyone’s memory.

The store layout is customer-friendly and spacious enough to allow groups to spread out without feeling cramped but close enough to regroup quickly for coordination. Many customers comment on helpful staff who provide friendly service and guide you to different departments — ideal for groups wanting to split and conquer various sections like clothes, books, or household goods. The store’s moderate rating of 3.7 reflects some variability in experience, so planning your visit during off-peak hours or checking for any store events can enhance comfort and availability. Better Bargains also often has discount days or coupons circulating via email lists, which groups could take advantage of to improve savings. All these factors contribute to a seamless, enjoyable shopping adventure for groups looking to make efficient and fun use of their time.

Additionally, thrifting supports sustainable consumer habits, so your meetup not only strengthens personal relationships but also contributes positively to community and environmental well-being. Whether it’s a casual weekend outing or a planned celebration, Better Bargains provides a distinctive backdrop where each group member can bring their personality and style to the forefront. This blend of fun, affordability, and meaningful engagement makes the thrift store a top contender for hosting group meetups.
How can you make the most of your visit to Better Bargains Thrift Store with a group? Preparation enhances the experience, so consider creating a tailored scavenger hunt list related to your group’s interests, such as “retro items,” “kitchen gadgets,” or “holiday decor.” Bringing small notebooks or cameras encourages documenting finds to compare later, adding a playful photographic element. Allocate a budget per person or team to keep spending fair and focused on strategic choices. Have a designated meeting spot and time inside or right outside the store to regroup and share stories. You might also plan a small potluck afterward or head to a nearby café to examine the purchased items collectively. By combining planning with spontaneity, your outing to Better Bargains Thrift Store will balance structure and fun, maximizing enjoyment and bonding.
