How is the average SO LOW - BTD is 5 stars all the way - obviously, great selection and prices. Second, awesome customer service - in person and on the phone/via e-mail. Strong bike knowledge! I purchased a bike here last weekend (during a sales event) and the team was well informed and so patient (don't ask how many bikes they adjusted and added pedals for me to test ride with a "no problem - we want you to find the bike for you" attitude). We live locally and often do the pick-up on our way to trails but have had items shipped and it's quick and right. Also, very IMPORTANT - Bike Tires Direct supports local races and teams with discounts and donations - spend your dollars with a crew that builds and believe in the bike community.

The fact that I’ve yet to review this place is insane. To have such a place here in Portland has been amazing. Great selection, and, did I mention the staff? Super friendly, always accommodating, chatty, helpful. I’ve had zero issues shopping at BTD over the last 5 years. It’s just a great place to get what ya need, and they are a local biz that support the local scene ya know what I mean?! Plus they are always so kind to my doggo when I swing her through (Maple Bar!). I can’t recommend this place enough. They have all the bags you could need! It IS a retail shop, they DO NOT do bike service/maintenance.

Customer service needs to be improved, or this company needs to let go of some employees who are not honest but playing a bully. I don't like to be scammed by Customer Service promising such as a refund after an order made. So one employee playing an angel offering a good deal but another playing a bully denying what was promised after a purchase made. Shame on you!

Skip this place if you are not currently at your billing address when ordering online. Instead of rejecting the order immediately, they will take it and then cancel it the day before the order was supposed to arrive. Total waste of time. Edit: They called from an unknown number that their website never said they would be calling from on the order screen. I have ordered from other places that make it very clear when checking out what number they may call from if there is an issue. When they canceled the order, I got an email immediately. An email or text message before cold calling was apparently too much trouble, but they had no problem sending an email to let me know they cancelled the order. I made a new order from manhattanrunningco in kansas and they shipped the item out without any problems and without cold calls from random numbers. I don't get how they think it makes sense to have no communication policies on the order page. I guess it is easier to respond to online reviews than to update the order page with any of this information?

I ordered a bike trainer from BTD for my husband for Christmas. The order was placed in November. Since I placed the order, the only thing I've received from BikeTiresDirect is emails saying that the order is delayed. We're up to 7 emails at this point. I'm constantly told a new delivery date, which clearly is never accurate. The newest delivery update is now February 22nd which is nearly 3 months after the order was placed and months after the original promise date. This is insane.
